In recent years countless models have made the leap from the catwalk to cinema screens, with the likes of Cara Delevingne, Kate Upton and Emily Ratajkowski paving the way for other fashion stars keen to make it big in the movies.

Baywatch star Kelly actually started her career with bit parts on TV shows before trying her luck as model. But after working with Gap, Old Navy and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, Kelly is ready to make a real splash in Hollywood.

"Everyone's so scared of labels. 'Oh, she's a model,'" Kelly sighed to British GQ. "Yeah, I am a model. I did do that and now I'm also doing something else. I think the world is way more caught up in the phrase 'model-turned-actress' than I am. I know there are definitely preconceptions in people's minds, but I just don't really care."

She’s also a big believer in taking herself seriously, adding there’s more to her than just a pretty face.

Since being cast as C.J. Parker in the big screen Baywatch reboot, a part originally made famous by Pamela Anderson on the ‘90s TV series, photos of Kelly in her swimwear have graced plenty of tabloid pages. Flashing the flesh is no problem for the 26-year-old though, as she loves nothing more than being in a bikini.

“That doesn't intimidate me at all," she grinned. "I don't feel any shyness. In the summer I'm always walking around in a bathing suit and I never wear shoes. I'm very 'one love' so that doesn't bother me. I think that's the California girl in me."
