Social media fan Kendall Jenner surprised her millions of followers earlier this week by deleting her Instagram profile without any explanation. However, it now seems that this wasn’t a hack or a mistake but a conscious effort to have a bit of a break.

The model - who is sister to the famous Kardashian girls - appeared on the Ellen Degeneres Show to reveal why she made the decision to remove her account.
Apparently, Jenner wanted a "digital detox".

She told the chat show host: "I just wanted to detox. I wanted a bit of a break. I’m always on it.
"I would wake up in the morning and go on it first thing. And go to bed and it was the last thing I looked at."
Speculation was rife that trolls had forced the 21-year-old off the media platform but she put paid to those rumours.

She said: "I feel like I was a little dependent on it. I didn’t think anyone would care.
"My friends kept texting me and my family members. And [my family] kept sending me links to CNN and I thought, ‘ how is it even this big of a deal?’"
Fortunately for Jenner’s legions of fans, the star confirmed that should be "be back".
