Kendrick Lamar is rising to the top and won’t let anybody stand in his way, the rapper has made that much clear by calling out a bunch of rappers on his latest track “Control (HOF)”. Actually, name dropped would be a more accurate description, because the list of… um… homeboys includes quite a few big names.

Lamar might have "mad love" for them...

In the new track, which you can listen to via NME, Lamar raps: "I'm usually homeboys with the same nigg*s I'm rhyming with/ But this is hip-hop and them niggas should know what time it is/ And that goes for Jermaine Cole, Big KRIT, Wale, Pusha-T, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, Drake, Big Sean, Jay Electron', Tyler, Mac Miller/ I got love for you all but I'm trying to murder you n****s".

But that won't stop him from trying to "murder" them.

That’s quite a controversial message, but at least he’s being friendly about it, sort of. In any case, if there’s anyone, who can afford the friendly rivalry with the likes of J Cole and Jay Z, it’s Kendrick Lamar, who has become a household name in the past couple of years. This year, he topped MTV’s Hottest MCs In The World Poll, beating out the likes of 2 Chainz, Kanye West and Rick Ross. And with a platinum record (good kid, m.A.A.d. city) and sold out shows across the country, the rapper definitely has some backing for his confidence.
