Robert F. Kennedy, JR.'s in-laws have paid tribute to his estranged wife Mary following her death on Wednesday (16May12).
Mary Richardson Kennedy, 52, was found unconscious from an apparent suicide at her home in Bedford, New York.
Few details surrounding her passing have been released by authorities, but her siblings have now issued a statement to ABC News expressing their devastation.
The press release reads: "We deeply regret the death of our beloved sister Mary, whose radiant and creative spirit will be sorely missed by those who loved her.
"Our heart goes out to her children who she loved without reservation. We have no further comment at this time."
Kennedy, Jr., the son of assassinated politician Robert F. Kennedy and the nephew of assassinated U.S. president John F. Kennedy, filed for divorce from his wife of 16 years following her arrest in May 2010 after driving her car onto a sidewalk outside a school in Bedford.
She was banned from driving, but was taken into custody again in August that year (10) on suspicion of driving under the influence (Dui).
The former couple was still in the process of divorcing at the time of her death. She had four children with Kennedy, Jr. - Conor, Kyra, William and Aiden.
