We're so glad we didn't have to wait too long for this. Zedd and Kesha have just unveiled the latter's first single in three years; a remix of the DJ's song 'True Colors' which Coachella Festival goers will have heard on the first weekend of the event when they collaborated during Zedd's set.

KeshaKesha is back in business with 'True Colors'

'True Colors' featuring Kesha is pretty much exactly the same as the original version Zedd released in 2015 as the title track for his US Dance chart topping album which originally had Rock Mafia's Tim James on vocals. Though this version has adjusted a few choice lines.

Where Zedd's original says 'We've escaped our capture, yet we have our masters', Kesha poignantly changes it to 'I've escaped my capture, and I have no master'. It's appropriate given her current legal situation with Dr. Luke's Sony imprint Kemosabe Records; she is was recently denied release from Dr. Luke's album contract so that she can pursue other musical ventures, despite claims from the singer that the producer sexually and emotionally abused her - allegations which he vehemently denies.

'True Colors' marks her first single released since 'Timber' with Pitbull back in 2013, and she and Zedd performed it together first at Coachella Festival in California earlier this month. 'It's a miracle when someone gives you a chance at finding your voice again with no reason other than that he is a f***ing beautiful person with a heart of gold', Kesha wrote on Instagram regarding recording with Zedd. She later added on Twitter: 'This is more than a song. It's a declaration of my truth'.

Meanwhile, Zedd insists that no loophole has been tackled to release the song, with both Kemosabe and RCA (which Kesha is also signed to) agreeing to the release. 'Just to clarify: We didn't use any loop holes. Kemosabe / RCA gave us permission to release this song!' He said on Twitter, a disclaimer that Dr. Luke seemed pleased with as he replied, 'Thanks for the clarification Zedd'.
