Kian Egan is releasing a solo album.

The former Westlife star - who was crowned 'King of Jungle' last month after winning 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!' - has signed up with Warner Music UK and is ''excited'' to be recording again.

He said: ''I am incredibly excited to be recording an album with Warner Music. Music is my first love, and to be able to get in the studio to record these amazing songs by such wonderful writers is such a thrill and an honour for me.''

The album will contain tracks personal to him, but will also introduce fans to some of his favourite songs, which he has put his own spin on.

The Irish singer, 33, will launch his debut album, which is being produced by Brian Rawling - who has worked with One Direction and Kylie Minogue in the past - and released via Rhino UK on March 17.

Dan Chalmers, President of Rhino UK, said in a statement: ''It's a huge pleasure to welcome Kian to the Warner Music family, we are thrilled.

''He's such a terrific all-round performer, commanding audiences through his music and TV work, most notably of course with the phenomenal success with Westlife, arguably one of the best boy bands of all time.

''We're delighted to be collaborating with Kian on the release of his debut solo album.''

Kian - who is a coach on 'The Voice of Ireland' - is the second member of the Westlife, following Shane Filan, to launch a solo career after the band split in 2012.
