Not that many people thought he was serious anyway, Kid Rock has confirmed that he is absolutely not running for Senate and that it's all just a big publicity stunt. In fact, he can't believe that there were plenty of people who genuinely thought he wanted to become the next president.

Can you imagine Kid Rock in politics? Neither can he, apparently. He's just clarified that he was never serious about running for Senate in an interview with Howard Stern on SiriusXM yesterday (October 24th 2017). Of course, nobody would've taken him seriously if we didn't already have a celebrity figure as a president.

Kid Rock Delivers Politically Charged Tirade In Michigan Show

Controversial American star Kid Rock threw some more fuel into his supposed run for the Senate by launching into a wide-ranging political tirade during a concert in Michigan.

The 46 year old was performing in Grand Rapids on Wednesday night (September 6th) and paused the show to deliver a speech that eventually referenced his headline-grabbing statement two months ago that he was considering running for Senate against Democrat incumbent Debbie Stabenow – though he hasn’t officially entered the race yet.

According to TMZ, Kid Rock referenced the NFL star Colin Kaepernick, who has been refusing to stand for the national anthem as a protest against oppression of people of colour in America, and the Black Lives Matter movement in his tirade.

We've seen celebrities turn successfully to politics before - not least the current US President - but who would have thought Kid Rock would be next on the list? Apparently, the rocker is trying to run for Senate, representing his home state of Michigan in 2018.

The 46-year-old - whose real name is Robert Ritchie - confirmed that a recent website that has appeared on the net, called Kid Rock For Senate, is 100% genuine. There's little else in the way of information regarding this surprising career move, but watch this space.

Kid Rock Refuses To Stop Using Confederate Flag Despite Protests In Detroit

Kid Rock has refused to stop using the Confederate flag during his concerts, despite protestors in his native Detroit calling on him to denounce the controversial symbol. The flag has been the subject of heated debate in the US for nearly 150 years, but the argument was recently reignited after the June 17 massacre of nine people at a church in Charleston, S.C.

Kid RockKid Rock has told protestors they can ‘kiss his ass’ over the use of the Confederate flag.

According to E! News earlier this week about a dozen members of Rev. Al Sharpton's National Action Network protested in front of the Detroit Historical Museum which features a Kid Rock exhibit, asking the star to denounce the Confederate flag.

Rapper Big Sean has claimed his first Billboard chart topper with his new album Dark Sky Paradise. His third album beat Kid Rock’s latest offering First Kiss to the top spot by 27,000 units in the week ending March 1st, according to figures by Nielsen SoundScan.

Dark Sky Paradise moved 173,000 units in its first week on sale, a combination of traditional physical sales and track and streaming equivalents. Both of his previous albums, 2011’s Finally Famous and 2013’s Hall of Fame, both entered at Number 3.
