Jack Bauer steps back into the breech once more as 24 returns with Live Another Day. Now a fugitive, being hunted by most of the U.S. government for his actions during the series finale, Bauer must stave off threats from multiple agendas to reach the ultimate goal in the new 12-part instalment, which is due to air on Sky One.

And while the 24 spot during the Super Bowl certainly reignited passions for America’s favourite all-action hero, this new teaser trailer gives us a first look at real footage from the show set in London. It’s a big deal, basically.

“If an American President is assassinated on foreign soil, you’re looking and a world war,” wants Keifer Sutherland’s Bauer in the action-packed teaser, which sees the anti-terrorism solider pitted against pretty much everyone holding a gun.

"24 has always had such a global sensibility. But to be able to tell this intense 24-style story with the beauty of Europe's history and architecture as the backdrop is going to be fascinating. Hopefully, by the time you're finished watching an episode, you'll feel like you've been there... on the edge of your seat," Sutherland has said of the show.

With 192 episodes, spanning 8 seasons and a TV movie under its belt, 24 certainly has the legs to attract viewers in for this, technically the 9th season of the show. But things aren’t exactly the same: every episode of 24 would cover 24 hours in the life of Jack Bauer.

Now, though, it’s more condensed. "We’re going to take advantage of the time. The story will be 12 hours over a day, but we'll take advantage of the fact that we can go from seven o'clock to nine o'clock," explained showrunner Howard Gordon.
