The third movie's script was rumoured to be a good one - but it's not happening
There can have been no trilogy more contentious than that of Sex And The City 3 which - after much-hype and speculation - was unequivocally scrapped earlier this year. After the project was abandoned, rumours of a feud between two of its top stars - Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall - were rife.
The fab foursome will not be returning for a third film
Now, reported leaks of the script have surfaced providing another suggestion as to why the third movie was abandoned - the death of pivotal character, Mr Big, causing Kim, who played sex-mad PR boss, Samantha Jones, to want to pull out.

Parker was asked about her 'SATC' castmate's bid to oust Andrew Cuomo.
As if there needed to be more speculation that things might not be all rosy between the former stars of ‘Sex and the City’, Sarah Jessica Parker offered up a potentially awkward future moment by sounding extremely non-committal in endorsing her ex-colleague Cynthia Nixon’s run for political office.
Last week, Nixon made headlines by announcing that she would be running against Democratic incumbent Andrew Cuomo for the New York governorship in September’s primaries.
While that immediately drew a massive show of support from her ‘Sex and the City’ castmate Kristin Davis, however, Sarah Jessica Parker stopped short of a glowing endorsement in a new interview.
The former SATC star sided with SJP in her feud with Kim Cattrall
The feud between former onscreen friends Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall reached fever pitch when Cattrall publicly attacked SJP’s response to her brother’s death. Now, one former Sex and the City star has come out to defend Sarah Jessica.
Jason Lewis has come out to defend Sarah Jessica Parker
Jason Lewis, who played Absolut Hunk Smith Jerrod in the popular New York series, has come down in favour of SJP, despite the fact he was also Cattrall’s character, Sam Jones’ love interest in the series.

The former 'Sex and the City' colleagues have been widely reported to have fallen out, both now and during the filming of the original series.
They’ve been widely reported to have been at each other’s throats by the media in recent weeks, but Sarah Jessica Parker has said that all talk of a feud between her and former ‘Sex and the City’ colleague Kim Cattrall has been “completely fabricated”.
Parker, 52, who played newspaper columnist and fashionista Carrie Bradshaw in the hugely successful series, insisted in a new interview that she never spoke badly about Cattrall, after the actress said that she didn’t want to portray her character of Samantha Jones in a putative third movie.
“I never talked about it, except [to say] that some of us were disappointed [about the movie not happening],” Parker told People this week. She also said that she remained silent after Cattrall’s interview with Piers Morgan’s ‘Life Stories’ interview recently, in which the discussion turned to Parker’s reaction to speculation that Cattrall would pull out of further participation in the ‘SATC’ franchise.

The third Sex and the City film has been given a firm no by the actress
Despite fan favourite Sex and the City sashaying off our screens well over a decade ago, drama, rumour and speculation continue to surround the ladies involved. After a hugely successful TV run, an enjoyable first film and a less-than-impressive second film, the possibility of a third film has been shut down completely.
Kim Cattrall said she has never wanted to be part of Sex and the City 3
Kim Cattrall - who played sexy Samantha Jones on the HBO show - has come out to deny that she had ever suggested she was willing to be involved with SATC3.

The ‘Sex and the City’ star says she considers herself a parent despite not having children.
Actress Kim Cattrall has spoken out against being labelled ‘childless', just because she is not a biological parent. The ‘Sex And The City’ star was guest editing BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour programme on Monday, where she participated in a discussion about the idea of motherhood.
Kim Cattrall guest edited BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour on Monday.
“I am not a biological parent, but I am a parent. I have young actors and actresses that I mentor, I have nieces and nephews that I am very close to,” Cattrall told host Jane Garvey. “There is a way to become a mother in this day and age which doesn’t include your name on the child’s birth certificate.”
Cattrall will play a 55 year old woman who realises her life has hit a dead end in the Penelope Skinner play.
Kim Cattrall will be return to the London stage later this year, to star in a new play about a woman experiencing a mid-life crisis. Linda, written by Penelope Skinner, will run at the Royal Court Theatre in London’s Sloane Square with previews beginning on November 25th before opening on December 1st.
Kim Cattrall is returning to the London stage this fall.
The actress who is best known for the role of Samantha Jones in HBO series ‘Sex and the City’ will star as Linda, a beauty company marketing executive with two daughters who realises her life has hit a dead end at 55. Linda will be directed by Michael Longhurst, who recently worked on Nick Payne’s play Constellations.
Sarah Jessica Parker is still apologising to anger fans for posting an Instagram picture which fuelled ‘Sex and the City 3’ rumours.
Sex And The City fans were overjoyed when Sarah Jessica Parker posted a cryptic Instagram photograph with a caption which everyone, desperate for any glimmer of hope for a third movie, took to mean Sex and the City 3 was in the works. It wasn’t and, as far as we know, isn’t. SJP has been paying for her slip up ever since and has been forced to apologise to SATC fans on numerous occasions.

The actress’ latest pic has got ‘SATC’ fans heart’s racing, but is Sarah really talking about returning as Carrie Bradshaw?
Could Carrie Bradshaw soon be back on the big screen? Well maybe, as Sarah Jessica Parker’s latest Instagram post has fuelled rumours that a third 'Sex and the City' movie has begun shooting. But before we get too excited there’s some detective work to be done, as realistically Parker’s post is more likely to be about her SJP shoe collection rather than stepping into Carrie’s Manolos for a third time.
Sarah Jessica Parker starred as Carrie Bradshaw in the HBO series and on the big screen.
Rumours regarding Sex And The City 3 started when the actress posted a picture of herself leaving Bloomingdales on New York’s Fifth Avenue carrying a ‘medium brown bag’ with the caption, ‘Well. I guess the cat's out of the (little brown) bag. As usual, we will keep you posted on every detail as we are able. I’m under strict gag order until then.’
Cynthia Nixon plays a 'Sex and the City' naming game in a recent TV interview.
Appearing on the chat show 'Watch What Happens Live!' last Thursday (30 April), Cynthia Nixon was asked by host Andy Cohen to suggest which 'Sex and the City' characters a variety of famous faces would be. And the results were certainly interesting: the actress was quick to name Queen Elizabeth II as Charlotte, both Oprah Winfrey and Michelle Obama as Carries, and Beyonce as Samantha.
Cynthia Nixon still keeps in touch with all the 'Sex and the City' ladies
But who does Cynthia think would make a good Miranda, the feisty lawyer she played in the popular HBO series? She reckons Hillary Clinton, Lena Dunham and Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg would all be a good fit. And then there's Gandhi, who would be - who else - Mr Big, according to Cynthia.
