A petition to boycott the Kardashian family and have their show removed from the E! network has received over 100,000 signatures, following Kim Kardashian's 72 day marriage to Kris Humphries - which many allege was a fake.
Public indignation into how the nuptials were packaged as 'the wedding of the year' is beginning to boil over, with most anger directed at Kim in particular. However, the petition surely couldn't have come at a worse time for a lesser known member of the Kardashian brood - brother Rob Kardashian, who has made it through to the finals of Dancing With The Stars. Rob and his professional partner Cheryl Burke have sauntered into the final stages of the reality competition, but the petition is likely to harm his chances of going all the way and leaves the door open for rivals Ricki Lake and JR Martinez to race ahead. Even singer Michael Buble got in on the anti-Kardashian mood this week during a performance in Manhattan, telling the crowd, "Please welcome Kim Kardashian", before joking, "Nah, just f*cking with you! That bitch isn't coming on my stage". The petition is seeking to do away with everything 'Kardashian' and creator Cyndy Snider told Yahoo, "These shows are mostly staged and place an emphasis on vanity, greed, promiscuity, vulgarity and over-the-top conspicuous consumption."
E! Entertainment are yet to comment on the petition, but they're unlikely to take any action given 'Keeping up with the Kardashians' is their biggest rated show. The wedding extravaganza episode drew 10.5 million viewers, while the new series of 'Kourtney and Kim Take New York' premieres on November 27, 2011.
