Kim Richards, one of the stars of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, has been arrested after allegedly kicking a police officer. The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Thursday morning (16th April). The former child star was in the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel when she was asked to leave for being "unruly".
Kim Richards has reportedly been arrested for public intoxication.
Reports suggest she refused to leave the hotel and went to the bathroom where she refused to come out, according to reports in TMZ. Police were called to the scene and allegedly had to forcibly remove the 50-year-old reality star from the hotel. Richards was seemingly intoxicated as she was "slurring her speech and reeked of booze".
Richards was taken to a nearby police station where she reportedly kicked one police officer in the leg. She was charged with public intoxication, trespassing, resisting an officer and battery on an officer. Richards spent the night in jail and was released at 10.45am after posting a $20,000 bail, according to the LA Times. She is due to appear in LAX Superior Court on 10th June.
Richards' struggle with alcoholism has been well documented and frequently discussed on the show. She checked into rehab in 2011 and was released over a month later. Over the past few seasons of Real Housewives, Richards has frequently been accused of relapsing but has vehemently denied she is drinking again.
