Former child actress-turned-reality star Kim Richards is facing legal questions about a foot injury she previously insisted prevented her from completing a community service sentence.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills regular, who is Paris Hilton's aunt, was taken into custody last April (15) after refusing to leave the Beverly Hills Hotel following an altercation.
She was subsequently charged with public intoxication, resisting arrest, and battery upon a peace officer, but struck a plea deal in August (15) to avoid jail time.
As part of the agreement, she was placed on three years of probation, sentenced to 30 days of community labour, and ordered to attend 52 weeks of Alcoholics Anonymous classes.
Her lawyer had previously won a delay in Richards' community service requirement, citing a foot injury which hampered his client's movement. However, she has since been summoned to appear before a judge after she was photographed wearing high heels at a red carpet event.
The 51-year-old must now return to court on 1 June (16) and provide a doctor's note for her injury, or prove she has registered to kickstart her community labour, reports TMZ.com.
It's not the only legal issue Richards, who has struggled with alcohol issues in the past, has faced in recent months. She was also arrested on suspicion of shoplifting from a Target store in Van Nuys, California in August (15) and was later sentenced to 300 hours of community service, three years probation, and 52 Alcoholics Anonymous meetings after reaching a separate plea deal.
