Kirstie Alley Reunites With Jenny Craig To Shed Those Last 20 Pounds

Kirstie Alley

Kirstie Alley, who has unfortunately earned herself a reputation as Hollywood’s poster child for weight cycling, is on the weight-loss wagon again. The former Fat Actress star has been reunited with weight loss brand Jenny Craig, having announced the renewed partnership on Monday. "I'm not like circus fat," she says in an ad, "I just wanna lose like 20 pounds."

Kirstie Alley
She just wants to lose those last 20 pounds.

How very Regina George of her. Alley first teamed with the weight loss company in 2004 and reportedly lost 75 pounds with the help of Jenny Craig products. She then left the program in 2007 and has been advocating for confidence at any size since then. Her own weight loss efforts even earned her an (apparently unfounded) lawsuit at one point. Now, however, she is back on the wagon. Alley explains why in the advert.

Abercrombie CEO Blasted By Kirstie Alley On Controversial "Cool Kids" Comment

Kirstie Alley

Actress Kirstie Alley has become the latest in a slew of people to blast Abercrombie and Fitch CEO Mike Jeffries for his 2006 comments about A&F’s brand values of exclusivity and catering for 'beautiful people.' Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past week or so, you probably know what he said.

While Jeffries had denounced said comments as taken out of context (it’s not clear what kind of context would have made them any better), Alley isn’t having any of it. The actress has turned into a sort of spokesperson for diversity and a body positive attitude throughout her career, and she certainly had a word or two for Jeffries on the matter.

"I just heard [about] this guy from Abercrombie & Fitch today. ...This dude from Abercrombie & Fitch—he's the CEO—what a [expletive]!" Alley said in an interview with ET News. "He says...Abercrombie clothes are for people that are cool and who look a certain way and are beautiful and who are thin and blah, blah, blah. He goes on and on and on. That would make me never buy anything from Abercrombie even if I was cool and thin. I got two kids in that [age] bracket that will never walk in those doors because of his view of people."

Seinfeld's Michael Richards To Make TV Return?

Michael Richards Kirstie Alley

What better time to capitalize on the return to the limelight of Seinfeld (well, one poll voted it the best American sitcom ever anyway) than to plot a return to television? That’s exactly what Michael Richards is doing, with The Hollywood Reporter, err, reporting that we could be seeing him on American TV screens again quite soon!

Richard is apparently being tapped-up to co-star opposite Cheers duo Kirstie Alley and Rhea Perlman in TV Land’s Giant Baby. Sounds pretty promising to us, though we do hope it doesn’t descend into the sort of comfortably nostalgic comedy that can occur when such a cast are assembled. Anyway, Giant Baby apparently has been created by Marco Pennette and revolves around Broadway star Madison Banks who reconnects with her long-lost son after the death of his adopted mother. Perlman’s down to play Banks (Alley) best friend whilst Richards will be doing a turn as her limo driver. Again, sounds alright really doesn’t it.

There is a somewhat serious reason as to why Richards hasn’t been seen regularly on TV screens of late; back in 2006 he responded to a heckler during a stand-up routine at Laugh Factory with a racially tinged rant that placed him in trouble and damaged his reputation. Could this role provide some sort of redemption? Only time will tell.

How Many People Does Kirstie Alley Love? Add John Travolta To The List!

Kirstie Alley Patrick Swayze John Travolta

Kirstie Alley has spent the week telling everyone who'll listen how many actors best known for dancing movies she's been in love with. She started with Patrick Swayze - the late Dirty Dancing star - and has moved on to John Travolta, the Saturday Night Fever and Grease Hollywood icon.

Alley made it clear that she never had an affair with Swayze, explaining that she didn't want to break up his marriage at the time. However, it seems Travolta has a particularly special place in her heart. She tells Barbara Walters in an upcoming 20/20 interview, "Travolta is [the] love of my life because of our evolution. From the actor I wanted to run off with to being J & Kelly's children's' Godmother." Bit weird, but anyway. In the same interview Alley put to bed rumors surrounding Travolta's sexuality, saying, "I know John with all my heart and soul. He's not gay. I think in some weird way, in Hollywood, if someone gets big enough and famous enough and they're not out doing drugs and they're not womanizing, what do you say about them? I think that people think that's the supreme insult, 'He's gay'".

So there you have it, Kirstie Alley wanted to run off with both Patrick Swayze and John Travolta. She ended up choosing not to have an affair with the former, and became godmother to the latter's grandchildren.

Kirstie Alley On John Travolta Gay Rumours: "People Think That's The Biggest Insult"

Kirstie Alley John Travolta

Kirstie Alley, having admitted to falling in love with John Travolta, has issued a scathing response to the rumours that he's gay in an interview with ABC News reporter, Barbara Walters.

"I know John. With all my heart and soul, he's not gay," she explained. "I think it's some weird way, in Hollywood, if someone gets big enough and famous enough, and they're not out doing drugs and they're not womanizing, what do you say about them? I think that people think that's the supreme insult: 'he's gay'" Well she was pretty clear about that! She went on to describe Travolta as "the greatest love of [her] life," and said she fought off the impulse to "run off and marry" him. "Believe me, it took everything that I had inside, outside, whatever, to not run off and marry John and be with John for the rest of my life," she said. But, in the end, she didn't "Because I feel like when you marry someone, you're supposed to work hard at it and you're supposed to make it work."

In the wide-ranging interview, Alley also spoke of her appearance on Dancing With The Stars, and explained how she felt "broken" and reluctant to be intimate before the show began. "When I gained weight the first time and then I lost the weight, I mean, that was OK. I gained it once, I lost it," she said. "And then I gained it again, and I thought, 'Oh, Lord, is this going to be the pattern of the rest of my life?' ... Maybe there were people who wanted to have sex with me, but I certainly didn't want to have sex with them in that condition."

Dirty Dancing: Kirstie Alley Fell In Love With Patrick Swayze In 1985

Kirstie Alley Patrick Swayze

Kirstie Alley has revealed intimate details of her relationship with the late Patrick Swayze. The Dancing with the Stars favorite told Entertainment Tonight that she and her North and South co-star got close back in 1985, though refused to go as far as calling it an affair.

She told ET's Chris Jacobs that she tried to avoid "going down that road" but was ultimately unable to stop herself falling in love with the Dirty Dancing actor. "Both of us were married. We did not have an affair. But again, I think what I did was worse. Because I think when you fall in love with someone when you're married, you jeopardize your own marriage and their marriage. It's doubly bad," said Alley. The actress is now friends with Lisa Niemi, Patrick Swayze's wife at the time, though says she is uncertain if Lisa is aware of their relationship. We're going to stick our necks out on this one and say yes, she's aware, she's definitely aware.

Despite falling for Swayze, Alley stayed with her husband at the time, Parker Stevenson, for 14 years. She and 'The Hardy Boys' heartthrob eventually divorced in 1997.

Secret Lovers Exposed: Patrick Swayze And Kirstie Alley

Kirstie Alley Patrick Swayze Lisa Niemi

Kirstie Alley has released her new book today 'The Art of Men', but seems that the book will be far less about the art of men, and far more about Alley's secret indiscretions with men. The biggest revelation which she has now also spoken to Entertainment Tonight about regards her brief romance with Patrick Swayze, that erupted while the worked together on the TV show, North and South.

"Both of us were married. We did not have an affair. But again, I think what I did was worse. Because I think when you fall in love with someone when you're married, you jeopardize your own marriage. It's doubly bad... After Patrick, I made a decision that I was not ever going to involve myself with anyone married." But speaking about the beginning of the non-an-affair affair, reported in the NY Daily News she said "I could feel someone sort of looking at me and at first I didn't look. But then I leaned forward and it was Patrick and he had this big smile on his face. And I thought 'Do NOT go down this road.'"

This news comes out three years after the Dirty Dancing actor's death. His life-long wife, Lisa Niemi was apparently unaware of the relationship between Alley and Swayze- Alley was even asked by Niemi to speak at Swayze's funeral. However, if the news was ever going to arrive publicly, the year that Niemi finally begins to date someone new, is probably the best time for everyone.

Celebrity Bombshell! Did Kirstie Alley And Patrick Swayze Have An Affair?

Kirstie Alley Patrick Swayze Lisa Niemi

What EXACTLY happened between Kirstie Alley and Patrick Swayze in 1985 then? Little did we know that the North & South co-stars had a secret affair all those years ago but Kirstie made the shocking revelation to Entertainment Tonight, in an interview that will air this evening (November 6, 2012). Both Kirstie and Patrick were married at the time that she claims they fell in love but she stops short of labelling their dalliance as an ‘affair.’

Alley claims that as they were both married, they tried to stop things from “going down that road” but she admits that they couldn’t help it, in the end. “Both of us were married,” she told Entertainment Tonight and added “but again, I think what I did was worse… Because I think when you fall in love with someone when you're married, you jeopardize your own marriage and their marriage. It's doubly bad.”

At the time of their attraction, Kirstie was married to her second husband, Parker Stevenson and Patrick was married to Lisa Niemi – with whom Alley is still good friends… for now, at least. The actress insists that she and Lisa are good pals but sys that she’s unsure if Lisa was already aware that she and Patrick had such strong feelings for each other, when she asked Alley to speak at Patrick’s funeral.

First ‘9’ On Dancing With The Stars, Courtesy Of Sabrina Bryan

Dancing With The Stars Season 15 had its first ‘9’ score last night (October 1, 2012), courtesy of girl band singer Sabrina Bryan. Her routine, with Louis Van Amstel, had the judges in rapture, especially Carrie Ann Inaba who said she’d never seen such lines of Dancing With the Stars before, according to People magazine. Bruno Tonioli awarded Sabrina 8.5 and compared her to Ginger Rogers, at the height of her career: “a true dazzler.” Len Goodman was equally full of praise for The Cheetah Girls star, remarking on her upper body control and legwork: “the hits just keep on coming,” he said.

At the other end of the scale was Bristol Palin who went home with the lowest score of the evening – a paltry 18, which was less than last week’s score of 19.5. “You were not in hold enough,” Bruno told her, as her Western-inspired routine failed to impress. Palin explained that she had taken her dancing partner Mark Ballas to a shooting range to give him an insight into her world but that sadly hadn’t translated into chemistry on the dance floor.

It was the second episode of the show and tonight, someone will be going home, in the Dancing With The Stars results show. One dancer unlikely to exit tonight is Kirstie Alley, who proved to the judges that her age should not be an obstacle to her progressing n the competition. “Age is just a number and you just proved that to us,” said Carrie Ann, whilst Bruno told her “Experience counts, and you showed it. You blended beautifully.”

Dancing With The Stars Week 2: The Pressure Rises!

Shawn Johnson Kirstie Alley Sabrina Bryan Len Goodman Carrie Ann Inaba

The Dancing With The Stars contestants didn’t show any signs of slacking as the show entered its second week, reports CBS News.

The first episode of DWTS usually features an impressive bow: the stars having had three weeks to prepare their routines, but as the show continues, they only have one, which in the past, has caused standards to drop. But not this time; Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson, Comic actress Kirstie Alley and Girl band singer Sabrina Bryan all delivered confident, sparkling performances to increase the pressure on their rivals. "I have something no one else can do, it's like my secret weapon," said Johnson, a gold medal-winning gymnast, using her considerable and bendy talents to her advantage. The quality now is astounding, and any weak dance will be punished quickly, as there’s no room for mistakes. Fellow Olympian Apolo Ohno put the pressure on sports stars competing to succeed: "As an Olympian, if you're not in the top 3, you're not on the podium," he said, before delivering a composed performance. "Speed with control," said judge Len Goodman. Determination, focus and hard work!" lauded Bruno Tonioli. “Someone put on his competitive pants today!” Joked Carrie Ann Inaba. It was a popular dance indeed.

Elsewhere, French actor Gilles Marini showed incredible synchronization, staking his claim for a continued presence on the show, and shaking off the effects of a strained hamstring, which was the cause of some backstage rehearsal drama. Next week the stars "will take creative control," explained chief judge Goodman. "We want eye-popping stuff".

Summer School Review

Very Good
Summer School may not teach us much about life and love, but if there was any justice in the world we'd be seeing reruns of this on TNT every Sunday instead of endless repeats of Sixteen Candles and its ilk.

Summer School is a lame and obvious stunt piece, but damn if it doesn't know it. Mark Harmon's a lazy teacher stuck with the worst students in school for summer classes. Eventually he's tasked with getting them to pass The Big Test, only to find that they're completely unmotivated and that one of them is totally illiterate. In fact, his job is on the line if they fail. What happens next is probably familiar to anyone who went to high school in America: The students bargain with the teacher; they'll try hard if he lets them use his car, throw a party in his house, and so on.

Drop Dead Gorgeous Review

Weak

Leaning hard into ham-fisted mockery of beauty pageants and Midwesterners, "Drop Dead Gorgeous" is an exercise in frustration.

It's frustrating because this mocumentary condemnation of the objectification of teenage girls is ripe with thick, delicious layers of irony, but director Michael Patrick Jann -- whose background is in sketch comedy -- allows that irony to be beaten to death by cheap, madcap overacting.

Following two frontrunners in the fictional American Teen Princess Pageant, "Gorgeous" applies its comedy with all the precision of a paint roller. Wide swaths of disposable laughs come from parading the absurdly varied and one-dimensional contestants before the camera. There's a showtune freak with a drag queen brother, a fat chick, an American girl adopted by Japanese immigrants, a brainiac who wants to do a Shakespeare soliloquy in the talent competition, an interpretive dancer and a soccer dyke -- whose death in a farming accident sets up the plot, revolving around how far one girl might go to win.
