Actress Kirstie Alley is planning an active 2012 - she has pledged to dance for 100 consecutive days in a bid to help fans get fit.
The former Cheers star, who has struggled with weight issues for years, has been shedding the pounds ever since she was forced to shape up as a contestant on U.S. TV show Dancing With the Stars earlier this year (11).
The actress lost an impressive 100 pounds (45.5 kilograms) since March (11) after adopting a healthy new diet and focusing on a strict exercise regime, and now she is vowing to help others do the same by leading an ultimate dance marathon, beginning on 1 January (12).
She says, "I'm trying to start a grass roots movement and I hope you all join in. I'm doing a hundred days of dance, starting on January 1. What you do is you join in, and whether you dance for 30 minutes or an hour, you dance for 100 consecutive days.
"And I'll video myself dancing, like, for five or 10 minutes and I'll hold a newspaper up so that you can see the date... so you know I'm not cheating. I want everybody in the world to join in on this, it's a fun way to stay fit."
