Kyle MacLachlan is planning to quit his role in Desperate Housewives now he is a dad, because he hates leaving his young son behind when he goes to work on the hit U.S. TV show.
The actor has played Orson Hodge, husband to Marcia Cross's character Bree, in the television series since 2006.
But MACLachlan has found the commute from his home in New York to the Desperate Housewives set in Los Angeles increasingly difficult since becoming a father at the age of 49 last year (08).
The former Sex and the City star and his wife, Desiree Gruber, 41, welcomed baby Callum last July (08) and MACLachlan is so determined to concentrate on family life, he's rethinking his commitment to the show.
MACLachlan says, "It's getting more difficult going back and forth. I'll do the next series and see how it goes.
"It's such a huge change having children. It's not about me any more - it's about my family."
And the actor admits the couple is already planning to expand their family once again, he adds, "Callum is an absolute joy. We're going to try for another so they can fight each other!"
