Kyra Sedgwick, the star of The Closer, was showing off a new tattoo on Sunday night at the annual Screen Actors' Guild Awards. The 46 year-old actress was wearing a red Pucci dress with cut-away panels, revealing some new ink on the side of her ribcage. She told E! News' Guiliana Rancic that the symbol was a family tattoo: "it's all our initials K, K, S and T." The initials refer to her husband, Kevin Bacon, and their children, Travis and Sosie. Kyra and Kevin have been married since 1988.
CBS News reported that the couple presented an award at the ceremony and Kyra, additionally, was nominated for an award. Sedgwick was among the nominees in the Outstanding Performance By a Female Actor in a Drama Series, for her performance as Dept. Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in The Closer. The show has now completed its seventh season and Sedgwick is reportedly leaving the show in order to spend more time with her family. The other actresses nominated in Sedgwick's categories were Kathy Bates, Glenn Close, JULIANNE MARGULIES and the eventual winner, Jessica Lange.
Kyra Sedgwick is also currently appearing on cinema screens, in the poorly-received Man on a Ledge. The film, starring Sam Worthington and Elizabeth Banks was released on January 27, 2012 in the US and has received less-than-favourable reviews. It is released on February 3, 2012 in the UK.
