Ahead of November 11th’s ARTPOP release, Gaga has unveiled the artwork for the album on billboards and via a live stream of her website in New York’s Time Sq. As expected, she’s basically naked.

But it’s not really her – so to speak. The image of Gaga sitting naked, a blue orb between her legs and her cupping her breasts in a bid to conceal them is actually a sculpture by Jeff Koons, whom Gaga implores ‘we’ welcome with open arms.

Speaking of the cover, the 27-year old tweeted: "Please welcome Jeff Koons into our family +shower him with love for the the talents he has shared with us. A pure and genuine collaborator. I'm nervous&excited to share something that's such a piece of my heart. Something I cherish deeply. A real depiction of my mind through his."

Rumor has it that the sculpture will take centre stage once again, when Gaga and her celebrity friends celebrate the album at its launch party on November 10th. We’re unsure if the blue orb will be present, but one can only hope so.

It’s been a busy year for Gaga so far. She’s had holes – literally – in her hip that needed operating on, and all this during a world tour. She’s also posed 100% nude in an arty video made by Marina Abramovics.

Perhaps the most ridiculous thing she’s done, though, is appearing in Machete Kills, the follow up to Machete. In it, she plays a cigarette-smoking temptress. The film has been a bomb with the critics, with many suggesting the over-top-top, hyper-violent, kitsch style of the movie is getting old now.
