The Dame Tu Amor star was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant at Ontario International Airport in California last month (Sep15), and accused of attacking a concert promoter following a gig in Newberry, South Carolina on 16 August (15).

He was held without bail in California and last week (ends16Oct15), he began the lengthy extradition journey to South Carolina.

Hernandez arrived in Newberry early on Friday (23Oct15) and was subsequently hauled before a judge to face the charges.

He did not enter a plea, but he was granted bond and allowed to return to his home in California, although he was ordered to surrender his passport so he could not leave the country. Hernandez, 38, must also undergo random drug tests and stay away from his alleged victim and witnesses to the alleged altercation.

His next court appearance has been set for 31 December (15).
