Noughties TV icon Lauren Conrad has teased a potential return to the small screen after posting a photograph on Instagram.

The 30 year old former star of ‘The Hills’ and ‘Laguna Beach’, who quit reality TV in 2009 after being one of the most high-profile personalities of the format for more than five years, appeared to hint at a return to MTV where she made her name more than a decade ago.

Never thought I'd see the day....

“Never thought I'd see the day…” she captioned the photograph when she posted it on Thursday (May 26th), showing the fashion fan rearranging the bridesmaid dress on a model. The shot also included a cameraman leaning in, and it was also tagged ‘MTV’, leading to widespread speculation among her fans.

“omg is LC coming back to TV?” wrote one of her followers, while another asked: “RIGHT?? Like hello is this happening???”

With the tenth anniversary of the original broadcast of ‘The Hills’ coming up at the end of May, many were hedging that the photo was trailing the announcement of a reunion show. Neither MTV nor Lauren Conrad has commented further upon the meaning of it.

However, it seems that an announcement is imminent. “Be sure to check Lauren’s Twitter account on Tuesday, May 31 at 11amET/8amPT (an important date for one major reason) for exact details,” MTV said a few hours later.

Conrad, who is married to lawyer and former musician William Tell, set up her own fashion line Paper Crown after quitting TV. “I definitely wouldn't encourage my child to do reality television,” she said in an interview last year, revealing an ambivalent attitude to the format that brought her to prominence.
