What Will It Take To Get Gilmore Girls Back On Our Screens?

Cult hit show The Gilmore Girls returned to our screens via Netflix late last year for four much-hyped 90 minute-long episodes. The sitcom - which originally finished airing in 2007 - was met with praise for the Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life Of and now, creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, has revealed what it would take to revive the show once again.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Sherman- Palladino said there would need to be an "open bar" as well as the "right" story and format.

The TV adaptation of The Handmaid’s Tale has taken audiences by storm and now award ceremonies are taking notice and heaping more praise onto the show - with 13 Emmy nominations under its belt. One of those nominations went to former Gilmore Girls’ actress Alexis Bledel who has been congratulated by her former on-screen mum, Lauren Graham.

‘Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life’ hit the streaming service on November 25, but Graham says she still hasn't sat down to enjoy it yet and admits she may never.

After a decade long wait for fans, the fast-talking twosome from Stars Hollow returned over this weekend for a binge-watchable mini-series on Netflix: A Year In The Life. The four seasonal episodes promised to be jam-packed full of all things Gilmore that every fan loved with creator Amy Sherman-Palladino back at the helm.

'Gilmore Girls' Is Going Global For Netflix Revival

While fans eagerly await the debut of Netflix’s ‘Gilmore Girls’ revival, due out later this year, the streaming service will be keeping them busy. From July 1st all seven seasons of the show, which originally aired on The WB and The CW networks, will be available to stream on Netflix worldwide.

The announcement was made by star Lauren Graham, who showed off her linguistic skills before telling fans: "You may have heard new episodes of 'Gilmore Girls' are coming to Netflix later this year. We can't wait.”

Middle School: The Worst Years Of My Life Trailer


In this screen adaptation based on the novel written by James Patterson, Rafe Khatchadorian is introduced as the main character who doesn't deal well with authority so when he is transferred to an oppressive middle school that has a book full of rules he can't help but break them.

After the head teacher destroys Rafe's book of drawings that mean the world to him, he enlists the help of his best friend, Leo, to hatch a plan to break every rule from the code of conduct. The narrative follows the two boys on their journey to complete this task and deals with themes of romance along the way as Rafe struggles to keep his feelings towards Jeanne under cover.

In this coming of age American Comedy we see Rafe dealing with his wild imagination that in turn lands him in trouble with his teachers and threatens his place at the school.

Streaming service Netflix is reportedly in negotiations to revive beloved series ‘Gilmour Girls’, reuniting creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and original stars, Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel. Graham and Bledel played mother-daughter duo Lorelai and Rory Gilmore on the popular WB drama, from 2000-2007.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix is looking to approach the revival as four 90-minute movies as opposed to a 10-episode series. The series is proving to be one of the most popular shows on the streaming service, which carries all seven seasons.

'The Lost Boys' Actor Edward Herrmann Dies Following Cancer Battle

Perhaps best known for his role in cult vamp flick 'The Lost Boys' as well as noughties TV show 'Gilmore Girls', veteran star Edward Herrmann has died in hospital aged 71 following a battle with brain cancer.

The star, whose most memorable feature was his towering 6 foot 5 inch frame, was confined to intensive care in a New York hospital for almost a month due to complications with brain cancer, but his family were eventually forced to switch off his respirator when it became clear that his health was rapidly deteriorating on December 31st 2014 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Hospital.

Ellen DeGeneres Working On New TV Series Based On Lauren Graham Novel

Ellen Degeneres will produce a new television series based on Lauren Graham's debut novel, Someday, Someday, Maybe, with the book being turned into a one-hour drama series for Warner Bros. TV. Graham is currently in the process of developing her work for the screen, The Hollywood Reported confirmed on Tuesday (June 11) this week.

The Gilmore Girls actress released the semi-autobiographical account of her time in New York as a young, budding actress earlier this year, with the book reaching the top-spot of the New York Times bestseller list upon it's release. Graham will write the script, which will stick to the story of a young woman who has reached the final six months of her three-year plan to make it as an actress whilst living in New York City.

Jeff Kleeman will be producing the series with DeGeneres and will see Graham team up with Warner Bros. for the first time since the end of her seven season-run on The Gilmore Girls. The series is in a foetus-like stage at the moment, with no potential stars lined-up for the show as of yet. We'll keep you posted on developments as they progress.
