Actresses Lea Michele and Jenna Ushkowitz have sent their condolences to Glee co-star Charice Pempengco following news the young actress/singer's father has been stabbed to death in the Philippines.
The teenage Filipino's estranged dad, Ricky Pempengco, was reportedly hacked to death by a drunk man brandishing an ice pick while shopping in a store in the town of San Pedro on Monday (31Oct11).
Charice, who was discovered by media mogul Oprah Winfrey, has since cancelled her work commitments to fly to South East Asia to be with her family, and now her TV pals have offered their words of support via Twitter.com as she mourns the loss of her father.
Michele tweets, "My thoughts and prayers go out today to my girl @OfficialCharice and her family for their terrible loss.. Thinking of you Charice."
Ushkowitz adds, "saddened to hear about @officialCharice 's loss. Sending all my love to you and your family."
Police have launched an investigation into the horrific murder and have named their main suspect as Angel Capili.
The accused man fled the scene of the crime and cops are now offering a reward for information leading to his arrest.
