Léa Seydoux thinks perfume makes women appear ''enigmatic''.

The 'Midnight In Paris' actress is the new face of Prada Candy L'Eau and stars in a mini fashion film for the brand shot by Wes Anderson, and she says the new ad sums up the essence of the fragrance because it has a Parisian feel to it.

Léa explained: ''I wear perfume because it's enigmatic, linked to something abstract. I've been wearing Candy L'Eau on the film shoot.

''The first Prada Candy fragrance was very sweet: this one is fresher, softer. It's very Paris.''

The French star admits she doesn't like to follow trends and as a result she believes her ''off-key'' look comes across as very natural.

The 27-year-old blonde said: ''I like things that are not too trendy, or à la mode - I don't like prescriptive 'first degree' fashion, as we say in French. I like things that are a bit off-key.''

Léa has grown up being surrounded by fashion and claims she was a fan of close family friend Christian Louboutin long before his iconic red-soled shoes became a celebrity wardrobe staple.

She added in an interview with the Telegraph.co.uk: ''I got my first pair of Louboutins aged 12 - Christian is my father's best friend. It was 15 years ago and Louboutin was not as big as it is today.

''It was only people in the know in the fashion world who wore Louboutins - and Madonna. He made a pair of shoes for my sister, who is two years older than me, so I said, 'Christian! Me too!' ''
