Lena DunhamLena Dunham has attempted to clarify her Odell Beckham Jr Met Gala story.

During an interview she conducted with Amy Schumer, Dunham said: “You and I were literally sitting across from each other at the Met Ball, and it was so surreal to get to do that. I was sitting next to Odell Beckham Jr.

“And it was so amazing because it was like he looked at me and he determined I was not the shape of a woman by his standards. He was like, ‘That's a marshmallow. That's a child. That's a dog.’ It wasn't mean — he just seemed confused.”

“The vibe was very much like, ‘Do I want to f**k it? Is it wearing a … yep, it's wearing a tuxedo. I'm going to go back to my cell phone.’ It was like we were forced to be together, and he literally was scrolling Instagram rather than have to look at a woman in a bow tie. I was like, This should be called the Metropolitan Museum of Getting Rejected by Athletes.’”

Soon after the article was published Dunham faced backlash on Twitter from those who found the story hypocritical and accused the ‘Girls’ star of being self-absorbed. One user wrote: “So Lena Dunham is criticizing Odell Beckham Jr. over a conversation she had with herself?”

“Lena Dunham is being EXACTLY the type of individual she claims she's against...make assumptions much?” another added. Responding on Twitter, Dunham wrote: “@OBJ_3 is talented, stylish, seems super awesome and wasn't into chatting with me at a fancy party.”

“My story about him was clearly (to me) about my own insecurities as an average-bodied woman at a table of supermodels & athletes. It's not an assumption about who he is or an expectation of sexual attention. It's my sense of humor, which has kept me alive for 30 years.

"Glad the outrage machine roars on though, right @amyschumer?” she added. “ps I'll try and dance myself onto @michaelb4jordan if I have the chance, even when I'm a married grandma. I'm a red blooded str8 woman!” Beckham Jr. has not yet responded to Dunham’s story or her tweets.
