Rebecca Van Cleave spent three days shooting the scene in the Croatian city of Dubrovnik, during which she stripped naked to walk through the city's streets as Headey's character, embattled royal Cersei Lannister.

Headey's face was later superimposed onto Van Cleave's body for the final episode of Game of Thrones' fifth series, and Van Cleave admits the gruelling shoot, which featured hundreds of extras pelting her with food, was a worthwhile experience.

She tells Entertainment Weekly, "It was one of the scariest, most wonderful, most gratifying experiences I could have imagined. I never in a million years would have thought I would be in Dubrovnik surrounded by hundreds of extras and crew members throwing food at me, but it was amazing... (You) checked out of the fact that you're nude... You're so in touch with the scene and what you're going for. It's definitely the hardest thing I've ever done but also the best experience of my life and I hope the next thing I do will have my head in it!"

Producers of the show have come under fire for their use of special effects and a body double for the scene, but Van Cleave is adamant fans should not concern themselves with the details of how it was filmed, adding, "It should all be about the finished product, not about whose body was where and whose head was where."

Headey is currently pregnant with her second child.
