Fact: Technical experts at Google have honoured late music legend Les Paul by posting a unique guitar widget on the search engine's home page allowing fans to 'play' songs using their computer keyboard. The dedicated Google Doodle was launched on Thursday (09Jun11), on what would have been Paul's 96th birthday. He died in 2009.

Fact: Pioneering guitarist Les Paul was honoured with a posthumous tribute at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday (31Jan10), with a performance by jazz singer IMELDA MAE and British rock guitarist Jeff Beck.

Fact: Guitar legend Les Paul, who died from pneumonia aged 94 last week (13Aug09), will be buried on Friday (21Aug09) in his hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, after the city holds a public tribute to him at the Discovery World Museum. A private funeral ceremony will take place on Wednesday (19Aug09) in New York.
