Friends and fans of late rocker Levon Helm have been invited to a public memorial service for the star at the home where he staged his Midnight Ramble concerts.
The Band musician lost his battle with cancer last week (19Apr12) at the age of 71 and he will be remembered in a tribute at his barn in Woodstock, New York on Thursday (26Apr12), before a private funeral on Friday (27Apr12).
Fans are invited to join the memorial and shuttle buses will run to the venue from three locations in Woodstock throughout the day.
A statement posted on Helm's official website reads, "Levon's friends & fans are invited to pay their final respects on Thursday, April 26, 2012 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at his home/studio in Woodstock... Thank you, all, for your kindness and respect for privacy during this very emotional time."
The property became famous for Helm's series of gigs there in the 2000s when he played with a number of special guests including Elvis Costello, Emmylou Harris, Kris Kristofferson and Norah Jones.
