When queried why she felt she was addicted, Lohan believes the roots of her addiction are in her childhood. She said "a lot of stuff went on with my family when I was young and I grew up in a very chaotic home and then there were moments of everything being wonderful and perfect and then things being so uncontrollable and chaotic that". She claimed she was, in a way, addicted to this sense of chaos because she'd never know anything different. She also continues by saying "I waited too long to face it."

Winfrey asked the Mean Girls actor how she felt about epitomising the concept of 'child star gone wrong'. Lohan claimed she hates, that her life was dominated by the process of growing up and recognizing and being just so tired and exhausted by the chaos. She is acutely aware that the constant media attention may put her under pressure when trying to live soberly. On the subject Lohan said " I have had no right in my past to complain about being followed by cameras and people making up stories, but there's something to be said about me moving forward that if I'm going to put myself in a public situation."

Lohan seems to be optimistic about her future and felt she wanted to get back into work as working is when she is "happiest".
