Lisa Kudrow has revealed that the long-awaited ‘Friends’ cast reunion has happened, but sadly it was in private.

Speaking on the ‘Today’ show the actress, who played Phoebe Buffay in the classic sitcom, said that the whole cast got together recently for a private dinner, away from cameras.

“We have convened. Privately. For dinner,” Kudrow said. “It was really fun! We had such a good time. It was hilarious. We were laughing non-stop.”

Kudrow did admit that staging the reunion in private was a little ‘mean’ but added: “If we don't tell you one is coming and then it doesn't happen, you have no reason to be disappointed. I'm managing expectations.”

However the actress doesn't see an onscreen reunion happening anytime soon. "I don't see it happening. It would be fun, but what would it be about? Think about it." she said.

"The thing we liked best about the show was that they were 20-somethings and they were their own family. Now, they all have families, so what are we going to watch?”.

Back in December, Kudrow’s co-star Jennifer Aniston shared similar views, saying that social media had changed society so much, ‘Friends’ wouldn't never work today. "Honestly, I don't know what we would do," Aniston said.

"I think that period of time was sort of nostalgic. I think why people have such an affection for it is because even though it was only 12 years ago it ended.

“There was something about a time where our faces weren't stuffed into cell phones,” she added. “We weren't checking Facebooks and Instagrams. We were in a room together, in a coffee shop together. We were talking, having conversations. We have lost that."
