The Girl Crush hitmakers had to cancel a string of dates on their Pain Killer Tour in North America last month (Jun15) after doctors found a polyp on Westbrook's vocal cords.

He underwent surgery and is now recovering, and his bandmate Phillip Sweet admits the health scare was a wake-up call to all four singers to take better care of their voices.

During a recent interview on San Diego, California's KSON radio station, Sweet said, "Oh, man. It's scary to even think about it. We've all had trouble with our voices through the years, where we've had a few days where our voices were weak or tired or we lost our voice. It's not fun. Because that's your instrument. It's what you use to express yourself."

Sweet went on to reveal it was pal Urban who advised Westbrook to get help as soon as possible after Nicole Kidman's husband recognised the seriousness of the situation from his own past polyp issues.

He adds, "And (Urban) has come through it (surgery) with flying colours."

Little Big Town are expected to resume their tour in Delaware on 31 July (15).
