One Direction star Louis Tomlinson is reportedly getting ready for a legal showdown with Brianna Jungwirth, the mother of his newborn son Freddie, over custody rights and alterations to the singer’s financial commitments to her.

Until now, Tomlinson has been said to have been on good terms with fashion stylist Jungwirth, whom he dated briefly last summer. “Although they're not romantically involved, Louis thinks Briana is a great woman and will be a fabulous mother. Louis has been helping Briana financially and is prepared to get stuck in with all the tasks that caring for a baby demands,” was the position before the birth back on January 21st.

However, according to a new report by TMZ, the 24 year old singer is now lawyering up as their relationship has disintegrated, with sources close to Tomlinson alleging that she’s “using” their one month old baby to extract more money out of him than they’d previously agreed, including preventing him from seeing Freddie.

It’s previously been reported that Tomlinson has paid for a three-bedroom home in Calabasas, Los Angeles, for Jungwirth and their son, while he himself is renting out a $21 million home in the area so that he can be near them.

The report indicates that Tomlinson will be asking a judge to order Jungwirth to give him custodial rights, including more access to his son.

This week, however, Louis had to leave L.A. for a while in order to attend the Brit Awards, where he and bandmate Liam Payne collected the award for Best Video on behalf of the rest of the group on Wednesday night (February 24th). He admitted that it’s been “tough” being away from his son, and that he found fatherhood “exciting”.

“It’s great, I’m enjoying it a lot and I’d definitely like more kids but not just yet,” he told The Mirror as he arrived at the ceremony. “I’ve been changing nappies. I’m used to it, as I’ve been doing my brothers and sisters’ nappies for ages.”
