One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan will be reunited this Sunday (June 5th) during charity football match Soccer Aid, in support of Unicef. But while the two singers spent years making music together before One Direction went on hiatus in January, this Sunday they’ll be on opposing teams.

Louis will be playing for the England team, alongside celebs including Olly Murs, Jack Whitehall and assistant manager Robbie Williams. While Niall will be on the Rest of the World team with Kasabian’s Sergio Pizzorno and actor Michael Sheen.

Despite the game being all for a good cause, Louis says it’s important he beats bandmate Niall. “I’d like to lie and say it’s not important for me to beat Niall,” he told The Sun. “But it is actually very, very important I beat him."

“We have got a bit of rivalry going on but it makes it fun.” Louis even said he’s prepared to use Niall’s recent knee injury to his own advantage. “He has got a bit of a twinge so he’ll be walking off injured on Sunday! Don’t tell the insurers!” he joked.

But Niall is also showing a competitive streak and accused Louis’ team of copying them during training. “I walked out after our training and they were basically copying everything we did,” he said. “I think they’re going to try to go for a few ankles.”

But during training on Thursday Niall did take time for a selfie with comedians and rivals John Bishop and Paddy McGuinness. Bishop tweeted the pic of the three smiling together and captioned it ‘New boy band - me @NiallOfficial and @PaddyMcGuinness - we are called One Lad and 2 Dad’.
