Luke Bryan has spoken out after apparently slapping a man in the front row at the Charlie Daniels' 2016 Volunteer Jam earlier this week during his set after he wouldn't stop flipping the singer off. Plenty of fans have rallie in support of the country star.

Luke BryanLuke Bryan slaps rude fan at charity concert

Luke Bryan was performing his new single 'Move' to an audience of around 15,000 fans during the charity concert at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Wednesday night (November 30th 2016) when he received a particularly rude reception from one spectator.

As he was singing, footage shows one guy in the front row started forcefully thrusting his middle finger up at the singer, even standing up as the singer approached to get his point across. Indeed, Luke wasn't putting up with any of that, and briefly stopped singing, stepped off the stage, slapped the guy's face with one hand and swatted his finger away with the other. And then just carried on the song as if nothing had happened.

The country singer has since issued a statement via a representative to explain what had happened. 'A man in the front row was making crude hand gestures toward Luke during his performance', a rep told Taste of Country. 'It was insulting not only to him but more importantly to the men, women and families sitting around him who were there to support and celebrate Charlie Daniels and the efforts of raising money for the military veterans - some of who were in the audience. The concert security personnel saw the man's disruptive actions of the event and he was escorted out.'

Luke made no reference to the incident for the rest of the night, continuing his set and returning to the stage later on in the night with Charlie Daniels himself for a rendition of 'The Devil Went Down To Georgia'. By the end of the show, they had raised $245,000 for The Journey Home Project, a foundation that provides support for all US army veterans.
