Madonna has offered her opinion on the Dolce And Gabbana controversy and firmly supports Elton John's views. The controversy stems from a comment made by designer Domenico Dolce in an interview in an Italian magazine, Panorama. In the interview, Dolce described children born by IVF as "synthetic babies". The March issue of the magazine was released on 12th March but the backlash against the duo continues with many celebrities and LGBT groups calling for a boycott of the label and protesters picketing D&G stores.

Sam Smith has scored a rare ‘double Number 1’ in the UK’s Official Charts this week. His recent single ‘Lay Me Down’ sits atop the UK Singles Chart and his debut LP In The Lonely Hour has returned to the summit of the Official Albums Chart as well.

A re-recording of ‘Lay Me Down’ as a duet with soul singer John Legend was released as the official Comic Relief / Red Nose Day single for 2015, and his live performance of it on Friday night helped it achieve sales of 105,000. The song dislodged last week’s Number One ‘King’, by newcomers Years & Years.

Sean Penn has spoken of his “great affection” for his ex-wife Madonna, despite the well-publicised turbulence during their marriage.

In an interview with The Times ahead of the release of his new movie The Gunman, the former Oscar-winner spoke about his relationship with the pop legend during the ‘80s. After what’s been a pretty bad week for Madonna with that on-stage fall at the Brit Awards, there’s some good news at last. The Israeli man suspected of leaking tracks from her forthcoming album Rebel Heart, having hacked her computer, has been formally indicted.

39 year old Adi Lederman was arrested five weeks ago, and has now been officially charged by Israel’s magistrate courts on four counts of computer hacking and leaking unreleased music. The court documents were originally obtained by The Hollywood Reporter show the individual charges to be computer trespassing, prohibited secret monitoring and additional computer trespassing, copyright Infringement and obstructing an investigation.

Madonna's fall at the Brits should have been yesterday's news by now, but it turns out the singer suffered some consequences when she took her tumble. It turns out the singer got a bit of whiplash and raised concern with her staff. 

Even a stage vet like Madge isn't safe from the occasional wardrobe malfunction.

"I had a little bit of whiplash," she said later, while taping her interview on The Jonathan Ross Show. "I smacked the back of my head. And I had a man standing over me with a flashlight until about 3 a.m. to make sure I was compos mentis" (in other words, in full control of her facilities).

This year's Brit awards was the usual cringe-worthy affair, with even Ant and Dec failing to eradicate the memories of James Corden's reign in the vast soulless hangar that is the O2 Arena. A 39 year old Israeli man has reportedly been arrested on suspicion of hacking into the computers of some of music’s biggest artists including Madonna and selling their music online. In an interview with Bang Showbiz, the influential producer and DJ believes that as long Madonna releases the right sort of album she will become “big again”. He said that he was keen to hear the new LP, entitled Rebel Heart and due for release in February 2015, and that it was good news that she was working with producer Avicii, currently one of the hottest names in pop.

Thor has been accused of sexually assaulting the girl over the period of a year, apparently taking her to a secluded area. He has been charged on 11 counts, including rape, sexual penetration, robbery and kidnap, according to the Daily Mail.

The LAPD arrested the acting coach, whose bail was posted at $2.6 million. The girl had apparently approached him for acting classes in 2008. He had taught the girl between April 2008 and March 2009 at the coaching school he runs with his partner Alice Carter. The website for the acting school has since been taken down.

Piers Morgan ended his three year run on his CNN talk show Piers Morgan Live on Friday (28th March) with a plea to the US government to change "the absurd gun laws".Morgan's show was cancelled following low ratings and possibly his involvement in the phone hacking scandal, nevertheless he left the show on a somewhat controversial note.

Morgan, ever controversial, used his final show as an opportunity to comment on the social and political implications of gun laws in the US. He referenced recent tragedies in which guns were used to kill large numbers of people which prompted criticism of gun laws in the US and worldwide.

Morgan has spent a number of years in the states over the past decade and described gun violence, such as that displayed in the Connecticut Sandy Hook massacre and the Colorado Aurora Cinema, as "a disease that infects every aspect of American life". Referencing these attacks Morgan said, as The Independent reports: "I assumed that after 70 people were shot in a movie theatre and then just a few months later 20 first-graders were murdered with an assault rifle in an elementary school, that the absurd gun laws in this country would change, but nothing has happened".

It has been revealed that Madonna is to direct another movie, despite the critical and commercial flop of her second directorial work, W.E. The pop star will mark her return to film with Adé: A Love Story, the upcoming adaptation of Rebecca Walker's novel of the same name, according to The Guardian.

The 'Holiday' singer will be teaming up with producer Bruce Cohen, who was one of the producers of the successful David O Russell film Silver Linings Playbook, and a screenwriter is being sought to adapt the novel. Adé will be the third movie Madonna has directed, her previous projects being the critically-trashed W.E., which explored the life of Wallis Simpson and a researcher delving into the truth of Simpson's romance with King Edward VIII, and 2008's Filth and Wisdom.

Members of the Russian punk activist group Pussy Riot have disowned their two most high-profile members, Maria Alyokhina and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, for having forgotten about the "aspirations and ideals of [the] group." Alyokhina and Tolokonnikova, known as Masha and Nadia, were released from a 16-month prison stint in Russia after having performed their anti-Putin protest song, 'Punk Prayer,' in a Moscow cathedral in 2012.

Maria Alyokhina and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, the former members of feminist punk band Pussy Riot, have given an Amnesty International press conference in Manhattan during which they discuss their 16-month imprisonment, their current motives and the controversial Winter Olympic Games, which is being held in the Russian city of Sochi.

They were jailed for two years after singing their protest song 'Punk Prayer', which criticised Russian President Vladimir Putin and God, in a Moscow cathedral in 2012 but were freed in December after intense media scrutiny and heavy lobbying by human rights organisations. A third member of the group, Yekaterina Samutsevich, was freed when a judge suspended her sentence on appeal.

Madonna and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis will be performing together at the Grammy Awards ceremony on Sunday! The organisers of the show confirmed collaboration yesterday (25th January) and the artists teaming up has pleasantly surprised a number of commentators. 

Madonna was confirmed as appearing on the show on Friday (24th January) and it was initially thought she would appear alone. However, today it has been confirmed the 55-year-old pop icon will be teaming up with Macklemore, the hip hop duo comprised of 30-year-old Ben Haggerty and 25-year-old Lewis. They will be performing Macklemore's 'Same Love' which is nominated for Song of the Year. The duo is also nominated for another six Grammy awards including Best New Artist and Album of the Year. Madonna has won numerous Grammy awards over her thirty five year career, including the award Macklemore are nominated for two occasions.

Madonna has recently been suffering from a minor injury from dancing in high heels, yet the 'Holiday' singer was not letting this get in the way of her performance. The singer posted a picture on Instagram with the caption: "It's official! I'm off my crutches and I'm looking for the perfect pair of heels to wear to the Grammys." Initially fans assumed the singer would simply be attending the Grammys as a guest but now can be certain the pop legend will once be returning to high heels in order to perform from an even more elevated position at the award ceremony.

With his estate earning an estimated $160 million between October 2012 and June 2013, not only is Michael the top earning dead celebrity, but the top earning celebrity in general.

The pop-culture icon made the shocking revelation in an article for the latest issue of Harper's Bizaar.
