Madonna definitely needs creative freedom! While doing promotion work of her latest studio album 'Rebel heart, the iconic singer has been more than happy to speak about an array of personal issues, and most recently she opened up about her 7-year marriage to film director Guy Ritchie.

During an interview with The Sun U.K., Madonna boldly revealed that she often "felt incarcerated" during her relationship with the British filmmaker.

"I think when you get married you have to be willing to make a lot of compromises and that's fair enough," she explained. "I think that's the way it goes in relationships. However, you know, I did find myself sometimes in a state of conflict. There were many times when I wanted to express myself as an artist in ways that I don't think my ex-husband felt comfortable with."

"There were times when I felt incarcerated," she added. "I wasn't really allowed to be myself. It doesn't mean that marriage is a bad thing. But if you're an artist you've got to find someone who accepts who you are and are comfortable with that."

Madonna and Ritchie, who tied the knot in December 2000, have one son together, Rocco, 14, and eventually divorced in 2008.

But despite her rather restricting experience during in her second marriage, Madonna may consider tying the knot again. "Maybe. Never say never," she said. "I don't have any limitations for myself in terms of relationships... I'm single. But I'd like to have a man around the house - that would be nice. My children like that and enjoy that."
