Forbes have once again compiled their yearly list of highest earning celebrities in every possible respect and the winner for highest earning musician in 2013 is a very familiar face indeed: Madonna. The Queen of Pop came out on top despite tough competition and the fact that she didn't really create or release any new music in 2013. Call that staying power.

Madge earned big through her touring and business ventures

According to the magazine, Madge earned most of her money over the last year through touring, with her 'MDNA' tour grossing $305 million in total since it was launched, earning the singer a cool amount in the process. Her other major sources of income has been royalties, her clothing line and the launch of her new fragrance, Forbes revealed, putting her total earnings for the past 12 months at an estimated $125 million.

Madonna didn't just snatch away the top prize from her nearest competitor, as she left other high earning pop stars in her dust, earning $45 million more than her nearest competitor: Lady GaGa. Gaga managed to make $80 million in the last year, although this number would have potentially been higher had she not been forced to cancel her 'Born This Way' tour early at the beginning of 2013.

The space between two and three was much closer than the gap between the first spot, with Bon Jovi claiming third place with $79 million. The band roughly earned a reported $3 million a night during their 'Because We Can' tour and will have also profited from royalties.

Toby Keith came in fourth, with his touring and the continued growth of his restaurant chain bringing him $65 million to play with in the past year. Hot on his tail at five was another band, Coldplay, who made it into the top five with a yearly earning of $64 million combined.

For those of you wondering where Justin Bieber is on the list, he came in seventh, behind Bruce Springsteen and followed by Taylor Swift and Elton John. Beyonce and Kenny Chesney were both tied for the number ten spot with $53 million each.
