'Game Of Thrones' season 6 is almost upon us and the main cast are doing the rounds to promote it. Maisie Williams, who plays gutsy young Arya Stark, opens up about the new series and why playing one of the biggest parts in the fantasy show isn't always such a good time.

First of all, there's the whole Jon Snow deal. That's pretty much the only character anyone cares about, which is a shame because he died last series (or did he?). As you can probably predict, Williams, being one of the main stars, is constantly getting asked about Snow's fate rather than her own character's life. 'People ask me all the time and I'm just left wondering, 'what about Arya?' No one wants to hear about Jon Snow. There's loads of other exciting story lines that are going on in the show', she said in an interview on 'Late Night With Seth Meyers', unambiguously gesturing towards herself.

Then there's the super uncomfortable costumes. She turned blind at the end of last season and so has spent season 6 wearing milky contact lenses to cover her irises. Problem is, they kinda hurt. 'I read somewhere that they gave me the option whether I wanted CG or contact lenses, which wasn't true at all. They said just contact lenses', she said. 'So I had to wear these really thick contact lenses that were 16 millimeters and hand-painted so they looked all murky. They were so, so painful, but guys were like, 'You're an actress, stop complaining'.'

On the other hand, she didn't have to experience wearing a corset on 'Game Of Thrones', seeing as she is pretty much always seen wearing a sack. Though the idea of a corset and a regal dress weren't always so undesirable. 'I was just like 'Hey I wanna look like a girl. People are gonna think that I'm a little boy on screen'', she recalled. 'I remember that kind of sunk in when I was watching back some playback and I was like, 'I look like a dude!' And so I really just wanted some lovely dresses and some corsets and to look like a lady.' However, she soon got over that novelty when she had to be laced-up for three days on the set of period romance 'A Storm in the Stars'.

There's also the fact that her storyline may not be such a major feature in season 6, what the return of Bran Stark, White Walkers everywhere and Cersei on the warpath. 'I feel like I'm not in it quite so much', she said. 'But my story flows a lot nicer than it has in previous years.'

'Game Of Thrones' season 6 hits HBO on April 24th 2016.
