Quote: "If he were around today, Richey would be the insane male version of Lady Gaga. Sky News would be buzzing over him in a Skycoptor and he would have the world's biggest Twitter following. Or he would have gone down the J.D. Salinger route and become a recluse. In any case, he would be a star." There's a lot of people who just do it purely for the money but I think those three are amazing." Manic Street Preachers star Nicky Wire is a big fan of the reunited Stone Roses.
Quote: "F**k, no. You're just a living museum at that point, aren't you? Manic Street Preachers rocker Nicky Wire rules out performing their record THE HOLY BIBLE at a special 'classic albums' show.
Quote: "It never fails to amaze me, Japan. You know, we drop two f**king atom bombs on you. We firebomb this place. We force your Emperor to admit he's not immortal on f**king TV, we just decimate you and they say, 'Right, you know what, watch this', and become an economic powerhouse." Manic Street Preachers frontman James Dean Bradfield is impressed with Japan's recovery after World War II.
Quote: "I lie in my bed and think to myself, 'There has to be a Kurt Cobain out there, there has to be a John Lennon out there,' someone who's eloquent and f**ked up, someone who's brilliant and intelligent... But we've been waiting a long time." Manic Street Preachers rocker Nicky Wire is still waiting for the next big rock star.
Fact: The cover artwork for the Manic Street Preachers' latest album JOURNAL FOR PLAGUE LOVERS will come with a safety sleeve when it hits record stores on 18 May (09) - after the "blood-splattered" painting was deemed inappropriate for younger shoppers.
Quote: "Public Enemy - get Chuck D to get that (award) because I think he's a true inspiration. Best rapper ever." Manic Street Preachers bassist Nicky Wire wants the legendary rap group to win the 2009 NME Award For Godlike Genius Of The Year.
Fact: Mystery still surrounds Manic Street Preachers' troubled guitarist RICHEY EDWARDS, who disappeared in 1995. If he is still alive, he will be 40 on Saturday (22Dec07).
Quote: "(He) somehow gets some rebel chic by playing in a prison and saying the guards are the bad guys. Hang about, you've got f**king mass murderers and paedophiles in there." Manic Street Preachers star Nicky Wire can't understand Johnny Cash's reputation.
