Maria Menounos will no longer work for 'Extra'.

The 35 year-old television personality is walking away from her post as co-host of the celebrity news program.

Menounos has worked on Extra, alongside Mario Lopez, for the last two years, but she is now walking away to "explore other options," Us Weekly reports.

Multiple reports have claimed that the television personality's exit isn't by her own admission, and a rift between herself and Lopez is also a contributing factor.

However, a source informed the magazine that this wasn't the case, and her decision to leave the syndicated show was made several months ago.

"Maria was 100 percent not fired," the source said of Menounos, who joined the show in 2011. "The truth is, she decided months ago on her own to explore other options, as she knew her contract was coming up for renewal. She made this decision."

The Greek beauty isn't short on other projects, she currently stars in her own reality show, 'Chasing Maria Menounos', which made its debut on Oxygen last week.

This focuses on her personal life, including living with her longtime boyfriend of 15 years, Keven Undergaro, and her Greek parents.

Menounos is also a trained professional wrestler and has featured in several matches for the globally known company WWE in the past, so maybe a return to the ring is in her future?

Although Maria's next career move isn't yet known, all her former colleagues are "supportive" of whatever she decides, and do not hold a grudge against her.

"There is no bad energy," the source also said to Us Weekly. "Maria has so much going on with her reality show, and she's happy that she has so many options to explore right now."
