Mark Hamill, the American actor who reprises his role as Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, says fans of the sci-fi franchise should manage their expectations of J.J Abrams' movie and suggests those over-anticipating the film are "bound to be disappointed."

"Oh, my God! It's just crazy town," Mark Hamill told Hero Complex about the back stage security and the fear of script leaks on the set of Force Awakens.

"First of all, the security. We had problems before with people leaking stuff, but I was saying to them, 'Is it really necessary to put on this giant robe with a hood that hangs down to your chest to go from my trailer to the soundstage?' They said, 'Drones.' I said, 'You're kidding! Really?'"

Still, Hamill insists that the first new Star Wars movie in 10 years is just that: a movie.

"Believe me, it will be here before you know it," he said to the fans who are really excited about the movie. "Forget about it, that's my advice. Look forward to all the summer movies. I'm telling you, it's just a movie. These people that build it up in their minds like it's going to be the second coming of, I don't know what - they're bound to be disappointed."

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set for release on December 18th 2015 and as well as Hamill also sees the return of Harrison Ford as Han Solo and Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia. Elsewhere, newcomers include Adam Driver of Girls, Oscar Isaac, best known for Inside Llewyn Davis and Domhnall Gleeson, most recently seen in Alex Garland's Ex Machina.
