Mark Ruffalo and Jennifer Garner, who played best friends turned lovers in the 2004 comedy 13 Going On 30, are no longer buddies. According to Ruffalo himself, Garner's current husband Ben Affleck made it difficult for the pair to hang out.

Speaking on Watch What Happens Live with his Begin Again co-star Keira Knightley, Ruffalo was asked by a fan whether he kept in touch with Garner.

Shaking his head, the actor said: "We had a great time together, and I think we would, but then Ben [Affleck] came on the scene and that was the end of that."

"I heard he doesn't allow her to have male friends," host Andy Cohen said, joking, "I made that up!"

Ruffalo shrugged, adding that it was "sad" that he hasn't stayed close to the actress. Garner began dating Affleck in the same year that 13 Going on 30 was released. They now have three children together, daughters Violet, 8, and Seraphina, 5, and son Samuel, 2.

Ruffalo has been married to the French American actress Sunrise Coigney since 2000. They too have three children together.

Begin Again stars Ruffalo as a disgraced music business executive whose chance encounter with a young singer songwriter in Manhattan  leads to a promising collaboration between the two talents.

It hits theaters on June 27, 2014.
