The star is known for his sense of humour and his kids, Keen, Bella and Odette, who he has with wife Sunrise Coigney, often bear the full brunt of his pranks. But they managed to get their own back when they pulled a mean trick recently.

"I got viciously pranked by my 10-year-old daughter," Mark told talk show host Jimmy Kimmel. "I was talking to her on the phone and she was in the car with her mom and I was talking to her, 'How was your day?' 'Good, how was your... (shouting) Oh my God, oh God Dad, I gotta hang up, I gotta hang up,' 'What's going on?' 'We're in an accident, we're in a terrible accident.' (Pulls shocked face and mimes calling back) 'Hello?' 'She's just s**tting you.'"

When Mark isn't busy messing around with his offspring, he's filming movies, and his latest silver-screen production is Spotlight.

Co-starring big names such as Rachel MCAdams and Stanley Tucci, it's based on the true story of the Boston Globe newspaper unveiling the scandal of child molestation within the local Catholic Church. Mark found filling the shoes of reporter Michael Rezendes exciting and praised the journalists for their extensive investigation.

But one of the most memorable moments for him was an embarrassing incident with co-star Michael Keaton.

"Are you kidding me, I literally c**pped my pants - I was so nervous working with him," Mark laughed. "'Cause I watched him growing up, I had a very uncomfortable moment with him. We were rehearsing and he said, 'Hey, why don't you walk me home?' And so I said, 'Yeah, sure' - it's Michael Keaton. I said, 'Hey, it's so amazing the renaissance that you're having right now, it's really exciting,' and he said, 'What renaissance?'"
