Mark Wahlberg, Kelsey Grammer, Stanley Tucci, TJ Miller, Sophia Myles and up-and-coming Irish actor Jack Reynor all star in a new cast marking a fresh new direction for the film.

“Michael has always been conscientious about the need to keep topping 'the last one,’ ” the producer, Lorenzo di Bonaventura explained to USA Today. “First, it was topping the animated Transformers television program; now we need to top our third movie.” Bay agreed.  “We needed to change the look from top to bottom,” he said.

But Bay won’t want to change too much – the last Transformers film grossed over $1b in the global box office, which pretty much guarantees the fourth instalment will be some sort of unstoppable ticket-selling behemoth of a juggernaut of a steamroller amongst this summer’s high profile blockbusters.

This fourth instalment in the popular sci-fi action franchise hits cinemas on June 27. As you can see in the action-packed trailer, it features the introduction of the Dinobots; the popular characters from the Transformers comic books, TV series and toy line are making their debut on the silver screen.

A recent poster for Age of Extinction, which you can see below, sees Optimus Prime riding Grimlock wielding a huge sword looking more than ready for battle. “Stand Together of Face Extinction” reads the tagline at the top of the poster. The film will be facing a battle of its own as it tries to outmuscle Dawn of The Planet of The Apes and Guardians of The Galaxy for June’s box office crown.
