Facebook Founder Mark Zuckerberg Has Become A Father For The First Time.
The tech entrepreneur and his wife, Priscilla Chan, welcomed a baby girl named Maxima Chan Zuckerberg late last month (Nov15), but they waited a week to announce the news via Zuckerberg's Facebook page on Tuesday (01Dec15).
In the message, they shared a letter they had written to their daughter "about the world we hope she grows up in", and revealed their plans for a generous donation.
The new dad writes, "We are committed to doing our small part to help create this world for all children. We will give 99% of our Facebook shares - currently about $45 billion - during our lives to join many others in improving this world for the next generation.
"Thank you to everyone in this community for all your love and support during the pregnancy. You've given us hope that together we can build this world for Max and all children."
The baby's birth comes just over four months after Zuckerberg, who was portrayed by actor Jesse Eisenberg in 2010 movie The Social Network, revealed Chan's pregnancy after she suffered three miscarriages.
The couple wed in 2012.
