Jennifer Aniston Courteney Cox Lisa Kudrow Matt Le Blanc Matthew Perry David Schwimmer

When news that the cast of ‘Friends’ would be reuniting next month broke, many fans of the mega-popular 90s sitcom thought their reunion dreams were finally coming true. But not only is the upcoming ‘Friends’ reunion not really a reunion at all, it’s also definitely not a precursor to a ‘Friends’ movie or even a Netflix-style reboot.

Marta Kauffman‘Friends’ co-creator Marta Kauffman.

The cast of ‘Friends’ (minus Matthew Perry) will all be together for an NBC special on Sunday, February 21st to honour TV director James Burrows. The fivesome will be appearing alongside cast members of other sitcoms that Burrows worked on, however Perry is unable to attend, as he will be working on a play in London.

The One Where Jennifer Aniston Was Replaced: 'Friends' Fan Notices Stand In During Season Nine Episode

Most of us could probably recite episodes of ‘Friends’ word for word, but one keen-eyed fan has made a startling discovery while revisiting the classic sitcom on Netflix recently. In the season nine episode titled ‘The One With The Mugging’ there’s a split second where Rachel Green is NOT played by Jennifer Aniston and the internet’s mind is blown.

Jennifer AnistonJennifer Aniston played Rachel Green on ‘Friends’ (most of the time).

During one scene in the episode, Joey is enthusiastically ranting about the potential of a monkey also being at his audition, while Rachel stands behind him in a printed shirt. But when the camera pans back that’s not Jennifer Aniston standing behind Matt LeBlanc and she’s not even wearing the same shirt.

Is This Fan's Dark, Alternate Ending For 'Friends' Better Than The Real Thing?

Lisa Kudrow Jennifer Aniston Courteney Cox Matt Le Blanc Matthew Perry

If you’re still mourning the loss of ‘Friends’ after all these years, then one fan’s bizarre (and kind of believable) take on how the sitcom could have ended might give you something to think about. What if 'Friends' hadn’t ended with them all leaving Monica’s apartment? What if all 10 seasons were instead revealed to have happened inside the imagination of Phoebe Buffay, who didn't actually have any friends at all?

Lisa KudrowLisa Kudrow played Phoebe Buffay in the classic sitcom.

Writing on twitter ‘Friends’ fan Gareth Stranks shared his idea for how the show could have bowed out and it quickly went viral, because, well it’s pretty extraordinary. Stranks wrote that he wanted the series to be revealed as the ‘meth-addled fantasy of Phoebe Buffay as she stared through the windows of Central Perk.’

Matthew Perry Is Very Aware He "Will Never Be Involved In Anything As Big As Friends Ever Again"

Matthew Perry first became a television star when he was cast as Chandler Bing on arguably one of the most loved sitcoms of all-time, ‘Friends,’ and even though the final episode aired over a decade ago, it is still finding success.

Perry is still astonished at the success of 'Friends'

The 45-year-old actor, along with his five other co-stars, may be the most shocked at how popular ‘Friends’ became, and while attending 2015 TCA Winter Press Tour to promote his new CBS sitcom ‘The Odd Couple,’ he opened up about being part of the iconic show.

Courteney Cox Has Said It, 'Friends' Reunion Is Not Going To Happen

Courteney Cox Lisa Kudrow Matthew Perry Matt Le Blanc David Schwimmer

It must be hard for the former cast members of our favourite 90’s sitcom ‘Friends’. It seems wherever they go and whatever they might be doing now, the big question still is, will there be a 'Friends' reunion? Courteney Cox was the latest victim of the oh so familiar question when she appeared on the ‘Late Show with David Letterman' on Monday. Unsurprisingly the answer was “it’s not going to happen”

Courteney CoxIs a 'Friends' reunion happening? Absolutely not, says Courteney Cox

Whilst it might break the hearts of many ‘Friends’ fans, Courteney did her best on ‘The Late Show’ to try and put the reunion rumors to bed once and for all. When quizzed by the chat show host the actress firmly stated, “it’s not going to happen”. The former Monica also added that if she did say she’d like it to happen then all the other cast members would have to be contacted and told “well Coutneney’s into it” and she just doesn't want to be responsible for that headache.

Lisa Kudrow Fell For Friends Reunion Rumor, Feels Bad For Disappointing Fans

Lisa Kudrow Jennifer Aniston Courteney Cox Matthew Perry Matt Le Blanc David Schwimmer

Friends fans might have had their dreams squashed by NBC adamantly denying any rumours of a reunion, but so did Lisa Kudrow. During her appearance on Conan this week, Kudrow admitted to having fallen for a false report and a rather convincing graphic. In fact, the Friends actress claimed the graphic was so good, that she began wondering why no one at NBC had spoken to her about joining the project.

Kudrow herself was fooled by reports.

"Okay, first of all. The graphic for this one thing was unbelievable. It looked really real," Kudrow told Conan O'Brien. "And then they were posting this article and the headline was like, 'NBC Confirms 5 out of 6 of the Friends Are In,' and I went, 'Oh my God. They didn't ask me.'"

Fans of hit U.S comedy Friends (or F.R.I.E.N.D.S because, why not?) were either horrified or gasping with excitement when rumours of a Friends (F.R.. alright fine) movie were bandied around. A Friends reunion, though, is not on the cards, according to everyone’s favourite kooky New Yorker, Phoebe Buffay (although she’s a real person and she’s called Lisa Kudrow.

Hollywood Game Night - A Glorified Game Of Charades?

Jane Lynch Fred Armisen Matthew Perry Kristen Bell Kristin Chenoweth Nick Cannon

At the tail end of her run as Mrs Hannigan in Annie, Jane Lynch is launching her brand new endeavor – Hollywood Game Night. It’s pretty much what it sounds like – a night of party games, banter and lots of competitive spirit. What makes this different to your average Friday night is that on this show, six of the eight contestants are celebrities.

Jane Lynch, Tony Awards
Jane Lynch loves a good game night.

When you have Fred Armisen and Matthew Perry competing in a mutant version of charades, it’s bound to be a funny experience, but what Lynch thinks is so special about this show is that the viewer at home gets to feel like part of the action – especially if they have a drink or two while watching Game Night. When she was asked by TIME Magazine whether contestants should come in caffeinated, Lynch answered: “Or slightly tipsy. Either way” In one promo she even suggests that viewers at home invent a make a drinking game out of watching the show.

Networks To Announce Fall Line-Ups, Will 'CSI:NY,' 'Touch' And 'Go On' Survive?

Kiefer Sutherland Matthew Perry CBS NBC ABC Fox

Crime drama CSI NY, Matthew Perry's 'Go On' and Fox's 'Touch,' starring Kiefer Sutherland are amongst the television shows in danger of being cancelled when the networks announce their fall line-ups in the coming weeks. The clock is very much ticking, and it's getting louder with every passing second.

It's a familiar Hollywood plot, with actors, producers, writers and directors waiting nervously to hear whether their shows have made it onto the fall line-ups. If the ratings are not there, the show disappears. Simple. NBC unveils its plans on Sunday May 12, while Fox announce on Monday, ABC Tuesday and CBS on Wednesday. CW fans have to wait until Thursday for that announcement.

As reported by the Plain Dealer, we already know that Animal Practice, Made in Jersey, Last Resort and The Mob Doctor are getting in, though there are several more high profile shows that are in danger of being handed a pink slip. They include the CBS crime dramas CSI:NY and Criminal Minds. Ratings suggest the latter might survive, but CSI looks to be a goner. A year ago, it was suggested that NY might get cancelled and CSI: Miami could survive though the reverse happened.

Friends Reunion 2014: So, Is It Happening Or Not?

Jennifer Aniston Matthew Perry Courteney Cox David Schwimmer Lisa Kudrow Matt Le Blanc

Speculation that the cast of Friends were ready to reunite for a 2014 reunion reached fever pitch last week. Jennifer Aniston, Matt Le Blanc, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox were apparently ready to commit to another season of a show, with a graphic featuring the Friends 'sofa' and 'The One With the Reunion' began circulating online.

The apparent silence of the key stars only added to the rumors, though Friends creator Marta Kauffman finally spoke up at the Call me Crazy premiere in Los Angeles on Tuesday night (April 16, 2013). "I'm going to clear this up-it's not happening!" she said, deflating the hopes of thousands of Friends fans. "Friends was about that time in your life when your friends are your family and once you have a family, there's no need anymore." Funnily enough, Kauffman said she first learned of the rumor when overhearing some people talking about it at a bar. Nevertheless, representatives for NBC and Warner Bros are yet to comment, though a source at NBC told E! Online the rumor was "not true."

Last year, Aniston - who played Rachel Green in the long-running series - played down a reunion, especially on the big-screen. "I can't imagine how you would do it, unless you did it years from now.I can't imagine what that would be. It's not normal. Friends is in your living room; Friends is not in a movie theater. It doesn't make sense to me. I think it would be going against its authentic self."

Courteney Cox Reunion With Matthew Perry Set For 'Go On'

Courteney Cox Matthew Perry Jennifer Aniston Lisa Kudrow

Courteney Cox's reunion with her F.R.I.E.N.D.S co-star Matthew Perry will air in April, when the actress, 48, appears on an episode of Perry's freshman sitcom Go On. Cox and Perry - who played husband and wife Monica Geller and Chandler Bing on the NBC sitcom - will reunite nine years after the Friends finale in 2004.

Go On focuses on a sports talk radio host (Perry) who finds comfort and several new pals in a support group after his wife's death. Cox will play a new love interest for her former on-screen husband. It's the latest mini-Friends reunion, following Cox's cameo on Lisa Kudrow's Showtime series Web Therapy. Jennifer Aniston and Kudrow have also both appeared on Cox's show Cougar Town. She recently spoke about her 10-year run on the beloved NBC sitcom, telling US Weekly, "I catch reruns of Friends and I don't even remember being there. I'm like, 'That is funny! I'd love to see the rest of the cast," she added, referring to Perry, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer.

Perry has tasted moderate success with Go On, while Matt LeBlanc won acclaim for his BBC series Episodes. Schwimmer remains busy as an actor, producer and director.

Matthew Perry Pokes A Lot Of Fun At Angus T. Jones' Religious Outburst

Angus T. Jones Matthew Perry

What do you do when a well known Hollywood actor denounces his own TV show to the amazement and surprise of both his fans and colleagues? Well, if you're Matthew Perry, you link up with the good people at Funny or Die, and you parody the hell out of is. (Sorry Jones; parody the... heaven out of it?)

"Glancing at the bible has led me realize that my show, Go On, is a complete abomination with terrible morals," jokes Perry, citing some of his favourite Bible stories, which are suspiciously similar to Life of Pi - the book recently adapted to the big screen by Ang Lee. Perry continues to dig the proverbial knife into Jones, as he 'promises' to give all the money back he's earned in Go On and Studio 60, but when someone asks him, "What about Friends?" Perry says, "What, do you think I'm a f**king moron?" The hilarious vid centres on Angus's rather ridiculous denunciation of his own show, while still raking in thousands of dollars per episode. Perry also mocks Jones' speedy apology, by apologizing seconds after in the same video.

Anyway, you should check out the video (below) for one of the funniest parodies going. We're assuming Perry decided to do this for his own, self-serving marketing reasons, so bear that in mind, Angus - while you're entitled to your own beliefs - you really had this coming.

Jennifer Livingston Gets Caribbean Vacation On Ellen

Ellen Degeneres Matthew Perry

Jennifer Livingston, the news anchor that recently accepted a viewer’s apology, after he made some disparaging comments regarding her weight, got a helping hand from Ellen Degeneres, whose show she’s appearing on tonight (October 9, 2012).

According to E! DeGeneres filmed a fake promo for News 8's morning broadcast with Livingston and fill-in sports anchor Matthew Perry, who is also a guest on tonight’s show. "I don't want to talk about sports, I want to talk about Jen and Bill [co-anchor Bill Graul]," said Perry in the faux promo. "You should watch them every weekday morning from 5 to 7 on News 8. Oh, and do I have time to mention my show, Go On?" The show was nearly done, but there was just one more thing for Livingston to read out, though. "This is very exciting," she began, "because the winters in Wisconsin can be so cold and Ellen thinks I deserve a little break, and you are sending me...to the Caribbean for a five-night stay?!" Well, we think you can guess her reaction.

After blasting the viewer, who insulted her about her weight, Jennifer decided to let it all go, saying to TMZ: “I hope people kinda leave him behind and leave him alone,” “I’m in no position to bully her,” Kenneth Krause, the man who made the comments told ABC News. “She’s a big media personality. I’m just a working stiff.”
