20th Century Fox has teamed with innovative taxi service Uber to promote Matthew Vaughn's new spy movie Kingsman: The Secret Service, starring Samuel L. Jackson, Mark Strong and Colin Firth. Uber riders in 50 cities will get the opportunity to get exclusive access to the movie from January 15, one month before the film hits theaters.

Users will be encouraged to enter a competition to win two passes to an advance screening of the movie. Winners will receive an email confirmation and directions to the theater, according to The Wrap.

Actress Sophie Cookson has landed the female lead role in Matthew Vaughn's adaptation of Mark Millar's comic series The Secret Service where she will join Colin Firth, Samuel L. Jackson, Tamara Egerton and Michael Caine, reports Variety.

Cookson, a relative newcomer to acting, is best known for Sky's adventure TV miniseries Moonfleet alongside Ray Winstone. Kick-Ass director Vaughn decided that he wanted to cast a fresh face who he feel really fit the part, over better known names such as Emma Watson and Bella Heathcote. Whilst potentially risky, this was a choice he opted for in Kick-Ass with Chloe Moretz and Aaron Taylor-Johnson and in Layer Cake with Daniel Craig.

Adele is reportedly being lined up to play the villain in Matthew Vaughn's forthcoming drama The Secret Service, starring Colin Firth and, possibly, Michael Caine, according to the Sun on Sunday.

In a movie stinking of desperation - though don't believe everything the tabloids tell you - Vaughn and the producers are lining up a number of high profile celebrities in a bid to boost the movie's box-office hopes.

One of the guest stars is the Grammy award winner who could be cast in the role of the villain. Vaughn apparently believes the Skyfall singer will prove "great value on the big screen" for the movie, which is an adaptation of Mark Millar's comic book of the same name.

Adele is apparently set to be the next singer to make the inevitable move in front for the cameras after reportedly being cast in the upcoming action film The Secret Service. The singer has reportedly joined a cast that already includes Samuel L Jackson and Colin Firth and will be flexing her acting chops in a villainous role in the new film.

Does Adele have a few more Oscars coming her way?

The 'Skyfall' singer will reportedly be playing the role of one of the villains in The Secret Service, which is being adapted for the screen from Mark Millar's original manuscript by Vaughn and Jane Goldman (Kick-Ass, X Men: First Class). Her participation in the film hasn't been confirmed just yet, so it is still unknown what role she will be playing, however some reports state that she will only be taking on a cameo role. If so, then this will be much like her last on-screen appearance - on the hit show Ugly Betty - where she also played a cameo role.

David Beckham joining The Secret Service? Sounds about right, even if it’s only the film and not the U.S federal law enforcement agency. In fact, they both sound totally feasible to us. The English ex-footballer will be making his third film appearance alongside Colin Firth and Sir Michael Caine in the Matthew Vaughn-directed film, The Secret Service, if The Sun are to be believed.

A source said: "Becks was asked by Colin Firth if he'd like to be in the movie but he is yet to fully commit. He loves movies and fancies appearing on the big screen - but just as a one-off, not a full-time career." But Becks isn’t the only British star said to be in demand for this film; glamerous singer Elton John is said to be wanted for a fight scene. We would really like that to happen, please. And if it does, it’s due to start shooting this autumn.

Since Sir David quit football, he’s been fulfilling an ambassadorial role for the Chinese Football Association, as well as travelling the globe for sports initiatives and charitable causes. He retired from the game while playing for the recently minted Paris Saint Germain, whose supporters recognised his commitment to the sport by performing a standing ovation at his last game.

Colin Firth is the latest serious actor to try their hand at a comic book adaptation, with the Oscar-winning actor set to star in Matthew Vaughn’s movie-imagining of he Secret Service, the comic he co-created with Mark Millar and artist Dave Gibbons. Millar and Vaughn have previously worked on Kick-Ass together, whose sequel will be brought out later this year.

Colin Firth pulls off suave and dashing pretty well, so he's probably the right man for the job.

MGM say it will announce the director of the new James Bond movie in the near future, but confirmed the film is some three years away, at least. We already know that it will not be Sam Mendes behind the camera, after he passed at the opportunity to concentrate on his theatre work. The British filmmaker was responsible for the last movie, Skyfall, the most successful film in the history of UK film.

"We are very excited about the franchise, we look forward to announcing a director soon," said MGM chairman and chief executive officer Gary Barber in a conference call with investors. "We are currently developing the screenplay and working with our partners. We look forward to developing the script soon and signing a director. We are hoping within the next three years it will be released." It was a massive year for MGM, which took $1.1 billion at the box office mainly thanks to Skyfall and Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. A huge turnaround when considering the studio was languishing in insolvency just a couple of years ago, resulting in the four year gap between 2008's Quantum of Solace and Skyfall. Mr Barber will have all but banked on Mendes returning to the director's seat for Bond 24 - given the success of the last movie - though it's back to the drawing board. "[Mendes] did an amazing job on Skyfall," he said "We are very thankful for the work that he did."

Kick-Ass meets The Mother F****r

The trailer for 'Kick Ass 2' is finally here showcasing yet more hilarious superhero capers from Mark Millar and John Romita, Jr.'s lovable comic duo Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl.

The first taste of the multiple award winning superhero comedy movie sequel has arrived with the exciting red band trailer. It opens with Chloe Grace Moretz displaying her usual feisty Hit-Girl attitude as she and Aaron Johnson's Kick-Ass show that they've done some serious training since the original movie in 2010. We also see the return of Christopher Mintz-Plasse, whose formidable Red Mist character has morphed into the supervillain The Motherf***** with revenge on his mind as goes about building a destructive army to avenge his father against Kick-Ass' new superhero team headed by the militant Colonel Stars and Stripes, unrecognisably played by Jim Carrey, and his masked pooch (no joke!).

Has the cat been let out of the bag too early? Last week, with rumors swirling around whose going to get involved in the recently announced new trilogy of Star Wars films, actor Jason Flemyng – who can list Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels among his credits – might have possibly, accidentally sort of let slip that Matthew Vaughn had been signed to direct the new film.

The Guardian reports that Vaughn was tipped to direct Episode 7 after Steven Spielberg, Brad Bird and JJ Abrams all publicly ruled themselves out of the reckoning. Vaughn knows his sci-fi, as he’s currently working on X-Men: Days Of Future Past as a producer. Vaughn and Flemyng have worked together on many occasions, including Lock, Stock itself, and Flemyng’s ease at talking about his pal evidently led him to say a little too much.

"Me and Matt have done nine films together, so I'm sure I'll get the call for Star Wars” said Flemyng absent-mindedly as he was asked about rumors surrounding Vaughn and the sci-fi franchise. Oops. He later looked somewhat sheepish in the video, like a man who’d realized he’d said too much. If he has leaked the news, Disney will be furious, with everything having been kept very hush hush since they bought the franchise from George Lucas for $4.05 billion last month.

George Lucas says his involvement in Star Wars: Episode VII will be limited and that he intends to leave it up to Disney's chosen director and producers to carry on his iconic sci-fi story. Speaking at the Governor's Awards on Saturday evening (December 1, 2012), Lucas explained what his duties as a "consultant" on the seventh movie will entail, reports Access Hollywood.

"[If the filmmakers ask],'Who's this guy?' I can tell them. I mean, they have a hundred encyclopedias and things, but I actually know a lot. I can say, 'This is this and this is that" So, basically he'll be sitting with his feet up then? He added, "Basically I'm not [involved] - I don't really have much to do." Disney are still on the hunt for a director to helm the first movie, though Lucas' good friend Steven Spielberg has gone on the record as saying it's not his "genre." George laughed off the idea on Saturday, calling Spielberg "probably the most brilliant director working in the business today," though adding, "I'm pretty sure he'd never want to do that! I don't think he'd want to."

Star Wars: Episode VII is set to hit theaters in 2015, with Matthew Vaughn looking the likely director. Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels star Jason Flemyng appeared to let the cat out of the bag at the premiere of Seven Psychopaths this weekend, saying, "Me and Matt have done nine films together, so I'm sure I'll get the call for Star Wars." When one journalist asked "Would he [Matthew] be interested?" Flemyng looked surprised, "What? Star Wars? I think that's.." before looking a little sheepish.

Lawrence Kasdan and Simon Kinberg have closed deals to write instalments of the new Star Wars trilogy, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The pair will pen either Episode VIII or Episode IX though the exact division of their responsibilities is yet to be determined.

As was previously reported, Oscar winner Michael Arndt (Toy Story 3) is writing the script for Episode VII, the first movie in the new trilogy. Kasdan is a Lucasfilm and Star Wars veteran having co-wrote 1980's The Empire Strikes Back and the 1983 movie Return of the Jedi. He recently co-wrote the screenplay for Raiders of the Lost Ark, considered the finest movie from Steven Spielberg's Indiana Jones movies. However, his latest feature film writing credit is the poorly received Stephen King adaptation Dreamcatcher, starring Morgan Freeman. Kinberg on the other hand has more contemporary material on his CV, co-writing the new X-Men movie Days of the Future Past and producing X-Men: First Class. He is also on the team for the forthcoming Cinderella film for Disney.

With the writers now locked down for the new movies, we should hear something about directors pretty soon. Matthew Vaughn is rumored to be in talks for the first movie in the new triology.

After Harrison Ford's fairly unsteady turn in Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, would sci-fi fans really want him back as Han Solo in Star Wars Episode 7? We only ask because an unnamed source told Entertainment Weekly's Geoff Boucher that Ford is "open to the idea of doing the movie and he's upbeat about it." Which translates to: he really, really wants to be in it.

There is one slight caveat to Ford's potential appearance: he wants his character to die. Han Solo was actually close to death in Star Wars: Episode VI - The Return of the Jedi, though George Lucas decided against it. "I thought he should have died in the last one, just to give it some bottom; some gravitas," Harrison Ford told Peter Travers in an interview with ABC in 2010. "George didn't think there was any future in dead Han toys." It's certainly surprising that Ford even wants to play Han Solo again - he's now 70-years-old - and previously spoke of his disinterest at the role. "I don't think there's a way to weave him back into the story," he said in the same interview. Earlier this week, Collider.com suggested Matthew Vaughn is in talks to direct Episode VIII and dropped out of the X-Men sequel in order to prioritize talks for the new Disney movie. 

In an E! Online poll this week, users voted for Tom Hardy as their preferred actor to play Han Solo.

If you haven't heard about Disney buying Lucasfilm for $4.05b, announcing Episode 7 and confirming plans to make another three Star Wars Films, go away; you have a lot of reading to do. 

Done? Well the first rumour of many surrounding the re-vamped sci-fi franchise is that Matthew Vaughn, the director of Kick-Ass, Stardust, Layer Cake, and X-Men: First Class, is in talks to direct the much talked about Episode 7. Sources close to Collider.com, who make a large fuss about the fact that this is just a rumour out of respect for the franchise (and good on them), have explained that Vaughn leaving his X-Men duties behind just five days before Disney announced the acquisition of Lucasfilm, is because he will be directing the next film. Now, again, here at Contact Music, we know this is just a rumour, but we can't help but being a little bit excited. X-Men: First Class was a solid superhero flick, and Kick Ass was a delightful mix of adult humour and juvenile pranks, expertly alchemised. 

As the Episode 7 rumours roll on, we'll be right with you either wishing they were true or praying for the invalidity, although we expect it'll be a long while before anything is confirmed from either Disney, Lucasfilms or George Lucas, who has been kept on as creative consultant for the upcoming projects.
