Speaking to Digital Spy at Comic-Con, Fox and Arnett, along with writers Brad Fuller and Andrew Form believe that the movie is true to its roots.

"We stayed true to who the Turtles are," said Arnett. "These four distinct characters and the way that they work together as a unit ... that idea, at the core, we did not deviate from."

Unfortunately, their defences were lost among even more bad press when the promotional poster was released which saw the four turtles hurtling towards the ground from a burning tower, with the date September 11 prominently at the bottom.

Still, Fox remains unperturbed by the criticism of the film so far and hit back at complainers at a recent press conference. "Let me tell you something about those people: how much money did Transformers 4 make? Those people can complain - they all go to the theatre," she said. "They’re going to love it and if they don’t, they can f**k off and that’s the end of that."
