Mel B has claimed that she was drugged by her estranged husband Stephen Belafonte throughout their decade-long marriage, as their increasingly rancorous divorce battle finally enters the courts.

The 42 year old former Spice Girls and current ‘America’s Got Talent’ judge, real name Melanie Brown, is divorcing her husband of ten years and is alleging that he perpetrated domestic violence against her throughout their marriage.

However, the Los Angeles Superior Court was told on Wednesday (October 25th) during preliminary hearings that Brown now claims that Belafonte drugged her, as well as subjecting her to years of physical abuse and mental torment.

Mel B's children dislike the Spice Girls.

The 42-year-old singer, who was known as Scary Spice when she was in the popular girl band, has admitted her daughters Phoenix, 18, Angel, 10 and Madison, five, are not a fan of the music she made in the girl group and have described the tracks as ''old people's music''.

Speaking to PEOPLE about her brood and their opinion on the 'Wannabe' hitmaker's, she said: ''One of them calls it 'old people's music'.''

Mel B sensationally threw a glass of water over Simon Cowell and stormed off the set of ‘America’s Got Talent’ this week, after the music mogul cracked a joke about the former Spice Girl’s troubled marriage.

Cowell looked on from the judging panel with Mel as the magician contestant Demian Aditya’s attempted trick went awry on Tuesday night (August 22nd) when his ‘dangerous’ attempt to escape from a locked suspended box ended with nothing happening. When it came to the remarks afterwards, he couldn’t resist a dig at his colleague’s expense.

“I kind of imagined this would be like Mel B's wedding night,” Cowell cracked. “A lot of anticipation, not much promise or delivery.”

Former Spice Girl Mel B has squandered virtually all of her personal multi-million dollar fortune in leading an “extravagant” lifestyle and is now almost broke, a court was told in her increasingly bitter divorce battle from estranged husband Stephen Belafonte.

Former Spice Girl Mel B is set to host the UK’s very own version of popular US show ‘Lip Sync Battle’, which will come to Channel 5 next year. The show, which airs in the US on the Spike network, sees two celebrities go head-to-head as they mime to famous songs in front of a studio audience.

The much-rumoured Spice Girls 20th anniversary reunion might be back on the cards as Geri Halliwell confirmed that the girl group has been in “talks” about getting back together for a brief celebratory tour.

Halliwell, 43, appeared on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ on Tuesday (September 8th) when she was asked whether the group had any plans to mark two decades since their first single and album next year. She responded cautiously, admitting that her band-mates Emma Bunton, Mel B and Mel C had been in preliminary discussions about reuniting (Victoria Beckham is already believed to have turned down the possibility).

However, she didn’t want to get fans’ hopes up unnecessarily as nothing had been set in stone yet. “I think it's really faltering that people are still supportive of the Spice Girls individually and collectively, that's beautiful, it's really nice. It almost feels you know that it [the Spice Girls] belongs to everyone, like a generation.”

Emma Bunton has played down media reports of an imminent Spice Girls reunion, telling fans that no concrete plans have yet been decided.

Bunton, a.k.a. Baby Spice, was responding to an article on Friday (August 7th) in The Sun which claimed that the most successful girl group in pop history would be reuniting for its 20th anniversary with an international tour next year, but without Victoria Beckham.

Just a few hours later, she seemed to put a dampener on those rumours on her Heart London breakfast radio show. “If anything happens and it’s concrete, and we decide on something, I will let you know, but nothing’s happening at the moment,” she said.

New judge on ‘The X Factor’ Rita Ora has revealed that she couldn’t say no to Simon Cowell’s offer once she had heard about the organisers’ new plans for the reality TV show, and that it was this that was the primary factor in her decision to leave ‘The Voice’.
