Melissa Leo, the American actress who scooped the ACADEMY AWARD for 'Best Supporting Actress' in February 2011, will reveal details of her personal troubles in a new memoir scheduled for 2013. Melissa Leo is currently working on the book, announced by Simon & Schuster on Monday (2nd April 2011).
Leo, who won an OSCAR for her gritty performance alongside Christian Bale in 'The Fighter', will reveal details of both her "troubled childhood" and her "stormy breakup" from the actor John Heard. Leo, who was a regular on the recently axed soap opera 'All My Children', first gained national attention for her performance in the 2009 movie 'Frozen River'. As well as her OSCAR for her role as 'Alice Ward' in 'The Fighter', Leo also scooped a Golden Globe and a SCREEN ACTORS GUILD AWARD. The 45-year-old is currently starring in the new television series 'Treme', which follows New Orleans residents three months after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.
Melissa Leo recently completed filming on the highly anticipated Kevin Smith horror movie 'Red State'. The film, scheduled to hit cinemas in October 2011, also stars Michael Parks and JOHN GOODMAN.
