"Weekend Update's" Michael Che Hits The Nail On The Head With Bill Cosby Scandal

So last night’s Saturday Night Live was a heavy hitter. And not because of Cameron Diaz, who was a perfectly fine host, but because Michael Che used the Weekend Update segment to address... I can hear you groaning already... the Bill Cosby thing.

After all the attention directed at Cosby recently, SNL went there.

While Che, much like many others, isn’t really sure where he stands on the scandal (more about that here) his speech was pretty much the most honest piece of media to hit the internet over the past week. Here’s what Che had to say, in a nutshell:
“TV Land pulled all re-runs of 'The Cosby Show. I don't know how to feel about that because I don't know Bill Cosby, but Cliff Huxtable practically raised me. I love that dude!”

Michael Che To Anchor 'Update' On Saturday Night Live

After a brief stint on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, former Saturday Night Live writer and stand-up comic Michael Che will return to the NBC late-night show as co-host of Weekend Update. Breaking into the SNL hosting world as an original, Michael Che will be the show’s first black anchor after 39 years of Saturday Night funny stuff and will take a seat next to Colin Jost when the new season kicks off later this month.

He will replace Cecily Strong who served as co-anchor for two seasons, one with Seth Meyers, before he left to host NBC Late Night programme, and the second with Jost.
