Michael Madsen was arrested last night (9 Mar 2012). Michael Madsen had to be taken to a police station in Malibu after the police were called to his house when a 'family dispute' got out of control.

According to a statement released by his lawyer, the 'Reservoir Dogs' actor was arrested at 3.55pm and was taken to the sheriff's department, charged with 'child endangerment with cruelty to a child'. Madsen's lawyer Perry Wander stated: 'Michael found his son smoking pot and they got in an argument when he tried to take it away. It's a family matter and Michael asks that his family's privacy be respected.' The police have since stated that the son did not need medical attention and it is still unclear which of the five sons were involved. Madsen was then allowed to leave for his home, at a bail for £100,000.

However this is not the first encounter with the law for Madsen. Twelve months ago, a warrant for his arrest was issued when he didn't show up for a hearing when he owed $570,000 in child and spousal support.

Michael Madsen was not the only 'Celebrity Big Brother' contestant to get arrested last night as Coolio too was arrested in Las Vegas for failing to appear at a court date. Madsen will next be seen in the TV-movie thriller 'Piranhaconda' on SyFy.
